London : Blogger's and scientists around the globe are warning the dangerous of Sun Solar Flares Storm from last few years. In august this year Australasian Science had also reported that "Massive Sun Solar Flare Storm will hit Earth in 2012 with 'Force Of 100m Hydrogen bombs'. http://www.ufo-blogger.com/2010/09/sun- ... alyse.html
Yeah, ha! the best post on that thread reads:
You should be aware that the STEREO satellites launched in 2006 are specifically designed to gove advance warning of CMEs (coronal mass ejections) and anticipate that at least 18 hours warning will be available to the earth. As I understand it most grid networks in the world receive data regularly from the STEREO bas station on earth, so will be well warned from the point of view of closing down the grids - which will be necssary.
There will be a blind spot of some months in 2015 while these satellites get obscured by the Sun. Hopefully some bright spark will send up a third satellite to solve this problem.
As others have commented, this is sensationalistic reporting of things that have been well known for a century and a half, and have, in major part, been sorted by the scientists and engineers.
It's just a shame that the Telegraph doesn't have the calibre of staff to be able to spot this sort of thing, and balance the article appropriately.

hmmm perhaps some of the folk at dtv would fit in well at the Telegraph
