Solar storms could ruin coverage of the 2012 Olympics, scientists have warned.
(Is that such a bad thing?....just kidding i kinda like the olympics and admire most of the athletes )

What i feel i have to say is don't you think it is odd our climate here on little ol Earth has been fluctuating lately,it's global warming,it's climate change...but this has apparently got nothing to do with the sun when it quite clearly is operating outwith what we perceive as 'normal' parameters.The sun for me is the main cause of climate change and it's just that those in power never let a good crisis goto waste,this is their motto so they thought they'd cook up the co2 is bad thing to make tons of money and gain total control,thankfully it's not quite going all their way!

The olympics will be the least to worry about when there is a solar storm, when it comes our way and when it has the 'right' polarity. The power grids (big voltage converters) in the northern hemisphere will be destroyed amongst other things.
I don't think that the sun is responsible for global 'warming', but the central sun.
Our solar system is now on the edge of the gravitational plane of the center of the galaxy, that causes an increase in gravitational pull, that causes friction between crust and core of all celestial bodies in our solar system, an increase in temperature.
I hope that historical records are correct, and that we pass the center of this gravitational field in just two days, or that the predictions of 2012 are wrong.
