There are strange noises emanating from the earth's core. There are even stranger noises booming down from the sky, according to witnesses around the world who've recorded them and put them up on YouTube.

If, like me, you stay up nights watching these things and reading interweb posts about how chemtrails are poisoning us and how Jay Z, Beyonce, Blue Ivy and the other Illuminati are prepping lizard-people overlords to take over our government, you may have stumbled down the rabbit hole of videos labeled "strange noises" or "strange sounds." A bunch of them popped up on YouTube in the middle of January, all purporting to have captured the same groaning, metallic thrum so loud it makes dogs bark and window frames rattle. This is a good compilation that ties the sounds to the electromagnetic waves of the Aurora Borealis.

Many of the videos turned out to be hoaxes. But others, like these from Norway, Sweden and Denmark, seem to capture the same weird sound - not unlike whale songs with deeper notes -- for real. In this one from Germany, you can hear the sound coming from the sky at such volume it sets off car alarms.

So what is it? End of the world? Earthquakes? UFOs playing a variation of the five-tone Close Encounters theme? HAARP, the mysterious government High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program that bounces soundwaves into the ionosphere to try to heat it - or perhaps to control our thoughts and cause seismic continental shifts?

Really, you can go nuts with this stuff. But it's kind of fascinating to think that ears in Canada, Czech Republic, Brazil, Russia, Croatia, Scotland, the Netherlands and Mexico are hearing the same otherworldly space singing.

From NASA comes this explanation: "If humans had radio antennas instead of ears, we would hear a remarkable symphony of strange noises coming from our own planet. Scientists call them `tweeks,' `whistlers' and `sferics.' They sound like background music from a flamboyant science fiction film, but this is not science fiction. Earth's natural radio emissions are real and, although we're mostly unaware of them, they are around us all the time."

According to scientists who study this phenomenon, there might be some relation between the new batch of sounds and the ones called "The Hum," a low-frequency acoustic anomaly reported for the past 40 years in certain areas of the UK and in the US in and around Taos, New Mexico; Kokomo, Indiana; and Norman, Oklahoma. The Hum can't be heard by everyone, but those who do hear and feel it complain that it disrupts sleep, causes migraines, dizziness, earaches and nausea. Theories about what causes The Hum include deep-well drilling, power lines and cell phone towers (though those only started sprouting up in the 1990s). A persistent hum that annoyed residents of Windsor, Ontario, last year was eventually traced to an iron-making facility on a place called Zug Island in nearby Detroit.

According to this research paper on The Hum by David Deming, College of Geosciences at the University of Oklahoma, "anomalous sounds" like those reported in January 2012 may have been coming from above, not below. Groaning, clanking, roaring noises "have been reported as coincident with large-scale electromagnetic emissions associated with the Aurora Borealis and the passage of large meteors through the Earth's atmosphere."
SMU seismology professor Brian W. Stump wasn't familiar with the latest rash of booms, groans and hums recorded around the globe this year, but says, "Historically there are a number of kinds of geophysical sources that can produce acoustic and sub-audible kinds of sounds. Earthquakes can do that. But I know of no controlled experiments about that."

The sounds have been recorded in Texas, including this video from Corpus Christi. And one from Allen, north of Plano.

Science can't theorize this one.......but I think I can find a possible link to what might of happened.....

A little more sci fi than the norm.....but also was experienced before in the late 70's and early 80's.....during the star wars era

They think it is caused by a russian cosmosphere firing a weapon from space.

http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/fire2.htm

Three years prior to this the First Cosmospheres had sent a message by way of enormous air booms along America's East Coast. Do you remember hearing the discussion on the news about the mysterious "sonic booms" that were being heard along the coast? Now Russia's newest Cosmospheres were using the Shuttle fuel tank to send a chilling new message to America's Bolshevik war planners.

and here.....

http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_firesky_01.htm

In late 1977 and early 1978, there was a strange rash of giant AIR BOOMS along the east coast of the United States and elsewhere. These air booms were NEVER satisfactorily explained, by either the government, the scientific establishment, or the news media. They could NOT be positively identified with any particular Super Sonic Transport plane (SST) or other aircraft, and indeed they were MUCH LOUDER than aircraft sonic booms.

The giant airbooms were actually caused by Russian Cosmospheres firing CHARGED- PARTICLE BEAMS down into the atmosphere in a DEFOCUSED MODE (spread out) for the purpose of announcing their presence to the WAR-MONGERS in the United States Pentagon, (2-9-78 WR).

:rtft: If this has any truth to it.....it would be a good explanantion why they cancelled the shuttle program, and rushed the MiniShuttle into orbit in its secret mission, to assess certain situations relating to star wars and other space wars targeting sattellites and other space missions......for recon purposes

....even speculation that the russians were trying to bring down the shuttle Columbia, with a spy sattellite intact, forcing reentry by shutting down their computers with a beam weapon from their cosmosperes.......causing the shuttle to automatically re-enter in an emergency shut down of their main cpus........and the conflicting computer signals, one from the main, one from the preprogrammed backup cpu were programming different sequences of actions to take, casing the shuttle to re-enter earlier than they expected......the shuttle's bay doors were open...and the sattelite in the bay apparently exploded causing the shuttle to go up in flames..............

dont know what to make of these stories.....but it seems to fit with their recent decisions to end the program....having not only been caught spying before, but now facing a more doubtful US and Worldwide public awareness movement, they would naturally become more secretive over their space warfare programs if this happened, and they would not want to risk the lives of any Astronauts if there was an impending threat from foreign entities in space from previously launched weapons, that recently have been speculated as being the case of the explosion of the Shuttle Columbia.

...seems a little farfetched to think they had something on board that the russians were trying to use to prove they were spying with, and actually tried to sabotage the pretimed seqences of their Shuttle cpu systems, when their sattelites could probably pick it all up anyways........but i would not put it past anyone in the Intelligence Community to think up some sort of plan to try to get these unmanned shuttles going because of this fact alone.....

so i cannot make any decision, but the booms heard are clearly not from a plane.......as far as the videos confirm.....and there is no reason for an entire Shuttle to explode simply because of a tile that broke loose.......they tried to pull that crap with the Challenger too.....something so small cannot create an explosion.....impossible........

So this makes me sway to the side of believing in the explanations and references provided, as reasoning for the "sonic booms" recently.

I live in England near Bath, on 12th April at about 6pm bst i was in my garden when i heard a loud boom, followed my a momentary shake, at the time i thought no more of it until it was featured in a national newspaper, someone had captured on film a sock shaped phenomenon in the sky, the military put out a story of the noise coming from 2 jets scrambled to a distressed helicopter over the Bath region, of course this is codswallop, there was nothing wrong with the helicopter its what he saw which scrambled the jets, and they sounded nothing like the boom even when they went sonic.
Last week i watched an episode of Fringe series 4 ep 20 to cut a long story short which was about the 2 earths [parallel universes] healing each other until a baddie who programmed children with a drug and used them at this later time to cause the merging of the 2 worlds, the tremors which were caused sounded exactly like the noise i heard on April 12th. [For those who want to investigate the british phenomenon, the story was run by a newspaper called The Sun.
