Sign the open letter to the UK government (and research councils) regarding the upcoming SPICE (Stratospheric Particle Injection for Climate Engineering) experiment.

http://www.handsoffmotherearth.org/2011 ... ojan-hose/

A consortium of universities in the UK are planning to test a kilometer-long hose that will be engineered to inject particles into the stratosphere as a geoengineering technology — in order to reflect sunlight back to space and thereby artificially – theoretically — cool the planet. There must be no tests allowed of equipment designed to engineer the climate, especially while there is an international moratorium on these technologies. This test must be stopped because it is the first step towards the technological manipulation of the climate — a high risk, ill-considered way to “cool the planet” when we know that emissions reduction is the only solution.http://www.handsoffmotherearth.org/2011/09/stop-the-trojan-hose/

Oh...ok...I will bite...
So, I am going to go about how I approach things I am skeptical about by asking questions before assuming someone has done zero research on a topic prior to posting...

So...
The Telegraph, September 14th, 2011
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/8761883/Scientists-to-create-artificial-volcano-for-climate-change-experiment.html
The first round of tests they want to inject...water...into the upper atmosphere in form of a mist...to see if they can induce the same reflective properties as that of clouds.

Another from the Britsol University:
http://www.bristol.ac.uk/news/2011/7895.html

As well here is the full report put together for both the SPICE preparation and the *digital simulation* they will be running to do *preliminary* analysis on the effectiveness as well as use 1 KM high hose, as opposed to the 20km high one, to look into the viability of both the right particles to use as well as make sure the particles would have no ecological or harmful effect to life on this planet.

So, knowing their first initial test is nothing more than that...a test...and that they are injecting...water...into the air...like they do on ski slopes everywhere now days...

What exactly is the "Trojan" you are speaking of? What chemical are they going to switch out with the water?

With the solar maximum coming...and the potential for "super flares"... as well as the recent finding that *EVERY* planet in this solar system is heating up at the same relative rate (why Jupiter has had so many storms on its surface recently)....

What makes you think that they are referring to our emissions regarding our warming climate?
