Halit Safin, a famous photographer in Ufa, January 23, took video of an unusual glow. He phoned a friend and said that in the sky above the street in the Green Grove Kuvykina hours from eight in the evening flickers something unusual. Halit, a child fascinated by UFO, arrived at the place at midnight and filmed on camera lights with shirokofokusnym lens: As the photographs drew attention to the colors of the object: blue, green, red. A friend stayed in his car to follow the object, and I went home for a long lens to look at what it is. The lens I bought to watch the stars four years ago, here's the first time there is a need to use it in practice.

When Halit returned to his seat, glow in the sky is still maintained, but dimmed slightly. "I looked through the lens of the neighboring stars, they shone like the object", said Halit.

This appears to be either a photon stream or type of magnetic vortex formed from the solar flare that erupted that day:

A rare find indeed! Green Grove Kuvykina, Russia is pretty close to the magnetic pole and "relatively" north:

Here is an article talking about the wandering magnetic pole for reference:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/adjust-your-compass-now-the-north-pole-is-migrating-to-russia-2233610.html

This is generally the same "phenomena" that happens with the Aurora Borealis, just sometimes if the angle is right (yeah I know...I sound like a government agent talking about swamp gas) and there is a strong enough magnetic field in the area (relatively speaking...an be several hundred miles away and you will see it) you will get a "punch" into the magnetosphere...from either a CME impacting or photons smashing through it from the initial flare...which can cause ionization of the upper atmosphere and generate the cool purty colors...

From the looks of it... I would be willing to bet that it is something right along those lines...especially since there was an M9 class flare that happened right around that time...that they saw the "strange vortex"... which in all reality...it sort of is...more like "strange ionized upper atmosphere"...

But definitely...would put my money on it being directly tied to the flare that occurred right bout when they filmed and photographed it.

Cool capture... it is a unique find to get that kind of reaction...lots of variables have to line up just right...and you have to live near a strong magnetic field...and actually have a clear enough night...and have a camera around...and be there right when the impact happens because it doesn't last for very long.

Either case... very cool...they got a unique footage of a stray magnetic field induced Aurora due to a flare impact...

:hell:
OMG
Google evidently is blocking Russian locations and Bing has a *STUPID* long URI...

Many apologies for this *THIRD* post...just can't read the whole thing...
(admins if you can delete the previous two posts it would be great...can't get to the edit button when a URI extends the bounds)
