Since you (dr.jones) live in the UK, were marihuana is pretty easy accesible but not really safe.
I suggest to try and go to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht in The Netherlands... not to far away, pretty cheap by boat or plane, and 100 % legal and safe

Jonesy! I encourage everyone to at least try it once, otherwise you never know, and to experience is to truly know.
I de-medicated myself of prescription drugs for my Tourrettes-Syndrome when I was 12, and started self medicating with cannabis at 14. It was Christmas break, and by the time school started again, there were no physical signs of my tics. People literally forgot I even had it. I've smoked at least on avg everyday (of course we all have our dry spells), but I'm a pipe person. I save the papers for smoking in large groups or special occasions. No sense in corrupting the green with nasty paper
As for any advice, I think everyone has things pretty much covered. Have a friend who smokes, get munchies, have a day off, good music, and enjoy!

i'm 38yo, the first time i smoked (before gym class, in 1986) i got sick as a dog. but the second time i tried (that same afternoon, right after school) i got hooked. and i kept on smoking, without a break, until last December. when i quit for good (until i change my mind, that is...). addictive? i guess, yes. but it never stopped me from doing what needed to be done (it might have delayed the process, somehow). i loved the relaxed feeling it gave me. i gave it up when i realized that my paranoia level greatly increased right after smoking, something i had not wanted to recognize before. the first few days off the weed were hard, and i did spend a couple of night sweating my ass off in bed. but that was it. no other side effects, no withdrawal symptoms, no shakyness, no NEED to have it at all costs. it is, after all, just a fucking plant....
cigarettes, that's a whole another story.
started smoking them more or less at the same time i started weed. and gave up 16 days ago (i'm on a CLEANSING MY BODY crusade![]()
).
now, that's fucking hard as hell. that's making me crazy. everything i do is followed by reaching into my pocket for one. eating, drinking, waking up, having an argument, feeling stressed, stepping out of the house, getting behind the wheels, even going to the bathroom...
that's addictive, the shit they put in them.
jones, listen up:
pick a day when you know you have NOTHING to do. go the the store, buy chips, ice cream, chocolates, candies, cookies and the likes. you will NEED them. call up one of your friends (you HAVE to have a friend that smokes, guaranteed) and ask him to hook you up. lock yourself in the house, alone is even better. put on some cool music (reggae is best) or a comedy show or a funny movie. smoke a fatty. get back to us.
peace.
Interesting. Yes cigarettes are a completely different addiction. Totally physically and mentally addicted to those as well
Nice to hear from a chronic who quit.

i don't consider myself psychotic, but then how can one be sure?
certainly, i have addictive personality traits. but those also apply to chocolate.
and beer.
You don't choose to be psychotic... psychosis chooses you... and destroys your mind
Not something I would recommend, really
@ Dr. Jones : best thing I can recommend is grow your own plant in summertime (May, June,...), take excellent care for it and harvest near the end of summer (late September, October).
Respect nature and it will respect you and give you what you were looking for.
Buying the strongest, buffed up hydroculture MJ might give you what you didn't ask for
And yes, excellent chill-out music and the companion of your closest friends enhance the experience a 1000 fold
And oh... don't smoke when you're already (getting) drunk... the MJ might get Mike Tyson on you

Why not? I could give you a few legal reasons.
If you do grow your own plants. Tell no one.
Unless you know what you are doing with hydroponics, you are not going to be able to grow anything decent.
