however, if there were to be a Coronoal Mass Ejection would it travel at the speed of light or would their be enough mass to keep from doing so;according to Einstien. Baically, would we have our standard 8 minutes of reiception from the Sun or would it be more like 10 or 20 due to the mass of the ejection? Can our magnetosphere handle the ejection anyway? if the power grid goes out, just how long will life suck?

LOL. I'm with you Cornbread. If i'm not dead tomorrow from a giant CME there had better be a LOT of shuttin the fluck up around here about crop circles and their fortune tellin properities...

Haha, you skeptics are awesome. DEATH by CME must ensue before Ph0nix will question to change his ideas. CME, large solar flare, or storm I dunno what will happen or really what was predicted the fact that there has been no sun spot or solar flare activity at all, in recent years and has started to occur and grow in the past 48 hours leading up to July 7th, as predicted, is looking more then coincidence to me, but then again I am just a believer.

Class C flares ain't gonna cut it.

It has been theorized that a huge solar storm could knock out the now-dangerously inter-dependent grid for months, possibly even years. If it happened, there would be mass chaos within a few days. I have no real understanding of the technical side of it, but that scenario came from respected scientists, not fringe sites.

It's right on time with predicted cycle changes and so far there's nothing all that unusual. It is not really a "super" sunspot - a class C sunspot is common during active cycles, but it is interesting and the LASCO C3 images over the past few hours does look pretty weird, so I'll grant you guys a little credit so far.

48 hours ago (July 4th, not 7th), some activity began. My guess is that it's the beginning of the longer cycle and July 7 will prove to be nothing unusual in the larger picture. If there is a significant event that occurs ON the 7th, then you will receive my sincere congrats (if it doesn't kill us all).

Here's an image from 2001 to keep you from too much undue premature gloating:

The initial prediction for a mass coronal ejection from the sun to occur on July 7th was first based on an interpretation of the jellyfish formation that came down on May 29. At that time there was no sunspot or solar flare activity. The only prediction that solar scientists could make was that at some point soon sunspot and flare activity will pick up again but they could not predict exactly when. Therefore, that is why I say if it happens it is proof that humans are not the creators of the genuine crop circle phenomenon. Conversely, if it does not happen then the interpretation was incorrect. It is beginning to look like we will see it happen. I have my 8" reflector and 70 mm refractor equipped with sun filters to capture it if our communication satellites are affected. At the least, the effects of a solar storm will be intensification of the aurora borealis and australis to lower and higher latitudes than normally visible as the solar wind from the flares impacts our magnetosphere.

"What a liberty" If it happens it's proof... if not the interpretation wrong....."What a liberty"

To be more specific, the interpretaion of the comlex formation below Milk Hill that evolved over three successive stages is that we are going to hit by the radiation from 5 successive solar flares.
