As the credit crunch bites and a global economic crisis threatens, Robert Peston reveals how the super-rich have made their fortunes, and the rest of us are picking up the bill.

Robert Peston, the BBC’s Business Editor, speaks to some of the heavy hitters in hedge-fund and private equity scene. Along with the investment bankers, these are the very people who have been blamed for the current financial woe’s of the world.

The film highlights the fact that these very few people have become super rich, and while the global economy is collapsing around us, they get to sail off into the sunset, with bulging pockets, to lay back, and wait for the next set of opportunities that will come along.

Which, ironically, will probably be the buying, very cheaply, of the many companies that are in trouble, due to the actions of hedge-funds, private equity firms, and investment bankers in the financial markets over recent years.

First thoughts: the documentary paid few attention to the politicians or grading agencies and basically it seems the whole explanation is the so called feeding frenzy. It barely scratches beyond the crust. It's a row of interviews with criminals passing the ball and blaming it on the everybody else. Sorry, free  the BBC really made a poor job with this documentary, imo, and it's quite behind the times.
The time of being brave will always find us unaware. If we doubt, the only question remaining will be: why wasn't I brave?

If you have been following what the main stream force feeds the sheeple you may have heard this story, its about how some ultra rich pay less taxes than their maids.
Warren Buffett wants to raise taxes for the rich. http://www.statehornet.com/opinion/buffett-s-call-for-higher-taxes-on-rich-justified/article_32b9bb16-d373-11e0-ab55-001a4bcf6878.html
He is probably meeting opposition from the congress and house, yet those people are supposed to represent the people. And the people, and the average person is sick of paying taxes while rich slide on a free ride on the people's dime.

I can not wait until the full story comes out on how the 3 branches of gov. have been working together to make one gigantic poesy scheme. It will be the greatest thing for the world to see how people are taken advantage of in the name of profit.
Back in the day profit meant one thing, bonus for holidays. Now profit means cut hours, reduce work force, cut manufacturing and out source work for pennies on the Benjamens', and not implement safe working conditions.

people attack the CEO'S for making 14 million in a year, but guess what?
they actually contribute to society by creating goods, services and jobs.
what the fuck do ANY of the people i listed contribute to society?
zero.
4 out of the 5 play a child's game and the other two can't even vote yet.

Sickening how unapologetic these 'fat cat's' are throughout the program.
I think we should 'reset' the economic divide, and get rid of money and the greed it perpetuates...it is a disgrace to me as a human to be tied to these shmucks according to species :nope: ...putting families out on the streets for fuck sake, then fucking-off to lay low in Jamaica...absolutely pathetic! :vomit:
Don't they feel bad as humans!!?
