Surfer dude stuns physicists with theory of everything

Garrett Lisi, 39, has a doctorate but no university affiliation and spends most of the year surfing in Hawaii
An impoverished surfer has drawn up a new theory of the universe, seen by some as the Holy Grail of physics, which has received rave reviews from scientists.
Garrett Lisi, 39, has a doctorate but no university affiliation and spends most of the year surfing in Hawaii, where he has also been a hiking guide and bridge builder (when he slept in a jungle yurt).
In winter, he heads to the mountains near Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where he snowboards. "Being poor sucks," Lisi says. "It's hard to figure out the secrets of the universe when you're trying to figure out where you and your girlfriend are going to sleep next month."
Despite this unusual career path, his proposal is remarkable because, by the arcane standards of particle physics, it does not require highly complex mathematics.
Even better, it does not require more than one dimension of time and three of space, when some rival theories need ten or even more spatial dimensions and other bizarre concepts. And it may even be possible to test his theory, which predicts a host of new particles, perhaps even using the new Large Hadron Collider atom smasher that will go into action near Geneva next year.

Hey now this sounds interesting, I will check the video out after I have eaten, thanks for posting, sounds great. Can't wait to see what he has come up with.

Cheers spock
Nature sure does have all the answers, marine zooplankton ie marine phytoplankton holds more keys to this theory.

These wonderful Aquatic nano creatures/plants do feed some of the biggest and oldest marine life on the planet.

Also corals need this super food to exist this is one of the secrets of keeping a marine tank by having a constant supply of phyto by growing it easily with a normal household light and basic F/2 fertilizer made from depleted iron in bottles with clean tank water.
copepods feed on phyto the pods are one of the best foods for finicky eaters ie sea horses or any young fish as they are getting the nothing but the best of natures larder

Very interesting as for the physics side wow it has blown me away as I think of this kinda thing every other day about the connection of marine life to physics and the big man up stairs as he is the ultimate creator.

I'm sorry for disagreeing Dr, but I do not concur.
gods glory hole got us in some of the mess the world is in already. ( inevitable imo, with existing human conditions.)
(watching vid now, will let you guys know if its good, but I assume it is, through its soundness and simplicity.)

Hey malogg - been wanting to do a Salt water tank for years now, specially that petco now has clown fish and angel fish for 10-20$ each. Knew someone who ran a salt water fish store in NY, he went under pretty quick needless to say due to his tanks were all custom made and were pricey. (his best estimate for a good tank stocked was 8 grand, at the cheapest.
What did you look at for a budget on that one, and general expenditures for a year?
Do you have any anemone for the clown fish? (which do they prefer, and do the anemone eat food?)

So much comes from outer space but what about the inner space.
Pics of corals from Frag Farmer (Russell Goddard) a friend I hope to import some of these God painted corals from.
good god man....

Well I watched it, and I have to say I am very impressed indeed. It appears that it is elegant enough to be the correct theory unifying everything we know about gravity and physics and combining them into a much more elegant form, because I tend to believe that the answer to everything will not only be elegant but beautiful beyond comprehension.
Fractals

Fractals as I am sure you already know, are made up of the same parts over and over and end up becoming the larger part of its own existence.
Fractals are used all over the place, especially in computer software for the use of making synthetic terrain, computer games use them all the time.

Perhaps the universe is the unified balance of itself, replicating outwards as has come before internally, and we are somewhere in between its make up, the final outcome being the same as is the first. Therefore making it somewhat eternal in definition. Interesting stuff.
So perhaps the smaller in scale we delve, may indeed give us the view of the larger one.
I think that guy is onto something, however if CERN turns up a lack of HIGS, then it is back to the drawing board.
Thanks for posting it.
