What you want to make is a faraday box. Quite simple, just grab a ammo box and fill it with newspapers, put the object you want to stay safe in there(make sure no parts touch the metal) and put newspapers on top, closing it up and wait for the poo particles to fly.

I hope you know how to properly ground that box of yours, "master tech" . No amount of metal can protect your electronics unless you know how to cover and ground all of the components with grounding your equipment being the most important thing you can do!
