You get yourself into debt, nobody forces you to take on that sort of responsibility.

Debt can be used to your advantage however, but you must have a plan to pay that debt off quickly or else you have indeed become a slave and willfully accepted the terms of usury. Nobody's fault but your own.

You may call it legalese all you want but the fact remains that when you sign a contract you are saying you agree to the "legalese" in that contract.

The main problem is the same as it has always been. Blaming others for your own decision that has created calamity in your life, and wanting to take that anger out on anyone but yourself.

There are many low interest loans, balloon payments and no interest loans that can be acquired but only work if the individual has self control and sticks to the initial plan of paying the debt back immediately. Don't blame others for your own lack of self control - that is the problem with society today.

If you don't want to be a slave, take the steps to get out of debt. Live on beans now or as Dave Ramsey says, "live like nobody else now, so you can live like nobody else later".

Pay for your things in cash. It's really that simple. Then there would have been no need to create a web page such as this trying to get everyone that has made poor decisions on a band wagon to oust the people they willingly agreed to in the first place.

As long as there are at least 2 people on the face of this earth, there will be a leader and a follower. Get use to that idea - it is fact. And being in either of those positions is not inherently evil, but rest assured that the follower will always figure there is a conspiracy to squeeze the essence out of him. That's the fruit of jealousy.
ATHEISM:
The belief there was once absolutely nothing. Nothing happened to the nothing until the nothing exploded into everything. Then all of the exploded everything rearranged itself, into self-replicating bits which turned into dinosaurs.

Your right Spock, we can all "volunteer" ourselves or not when it comes to debt. But, what about taxes? I have nothing against the free market and capitalism but I do have a problem being enslaved to the government for participating in the free market.

The best example I can give is property taxes on my home. I use the term "my home " loosely here. As a good steward of my money and my debt, I worked hard to pay off my debt including my mortgage. But now, a long list of government agencies tells me once a year that if I do not give them some money, they will throw me and my family out of my home and give it to someone who will give them the money.

You could say that I volunteered myself to this "slavery by extortion" by buying a home to put a roof over my family. I guess we could live in our car or on the street or under a bridge and many people now do. But why is the public so outraged by a $1.50 ATM machine charge yet complacent when "the man" is stomping all over them and robbing them blind?

When it comes to the use of such terms as "free market" and "too big to fail" we have to realize that usage of such is nothing more than propagandizing a simple reality. That is that Wall Street and the Banks have created a 4th branch of government (in the U.S.) that has more power than the other three branches combined, which answers to nobody, and has enslaved the entire country through taxation.

Who volunteered for that?

well put spock :flop: 'but' as on another thread hear on DTV about money and its danger :rtft: debt only comes when that that was used for trade is not availible for some means right? :headscratch: so the 'bigger picture' that may be being referred to hear is that the governments have systematically over the years, removing destroying and taking away the bare trade items of old.......so when money is stopped being printed or like nowadays 'switched off/ephemeral' he who controls that controls all-power :flop:

so how do we carry on with no trading system if the 'controller' takes the money of today? :headscratch:

maybe mod could merge this thread and demobe 'money is the root of all evil' thread? :flop:
:hugging:

I can see where you are coming from except the little known fact the bankers make money on your credit.
You sign up for a $10K car loan, banks then claim $170K in credit off your signature, so they have recieved 17 times what you loaned, do they pay you interest on that $170K they have recieved off your credit? NO, that is fraud, the interest you are paying back is the interest on their loan.
Mortgage scam, you borrow $100K for a mortgage with an interest rate of 5%, but it is not 5% is it? If it was you would be repaying $105K and not $193K again fraud, people assume they are buying their house even when the mortgage is finished, check the title/deeds it says you are a tenant not the owner, so if we are tenants in somebody elses home why are we paying property taxes, home insurance, PMI, lawn/pool service plus any repairs?
Why if banks charge 5-26% for various loans and credit cards, how can they pay you interest on savings of 0.5%.
How have they convinced the public that they must pay $1.50 for withdrawing their money!!
Charge $7 a month on checking accounts for using their bank, when they already make vast amounts of money of other peoples earnings.
Always remember the fact that banks have no money of their own in their safes, it is the peoples, they seem to have forgotten that.
