And now to show you some proof how real alchemy is...in modern age.
In my first article I showed a recipe for creating wine vitriol. I was just dying to find out what exactly is this mysterious goo/dust that is said to turn water into wine and heal people. Until last week, the only other mention of wine vitriol I saw was in an alchemy journal from rexresearch. It was said to be found on the inside walls of wine kegs and to "have a use in alchemy".
I did create a very small amount (grain) of wine vitriol the lazy way, by prematurely heating a metal glass with candle fire over a week. Without much thought i just tested it on me putting the grain amount of goo in a glass of water. It quickly spread out like a disease and painted the water bright red (not much).
Ingestion had no noticeable effects apart from a quick PAIN in the middle of my chest.
Well, wine vitriol is actually tartaric acid or tartar, as alchemists call it. It is normal for tartaric acid to form on the inside of old wine barrels or on the cork of the bottle. Sometimes even whole shiny crystals are formed.
But we are talking about natural tartaric acid produced in wine, not pure white dust powder that you can buy from a chemistry store. The goo is probably something more then that.
Here is where I believe Alchemy is a better science then Chemistry because Alchemy recognizes the energy aspect and the divine process that we don't see or know about. Take, for example, modern alchemy adepts who experiment with urine. Heating urine would result in poisonous fumes (ammonium?). But one would ask can't we just get the chemical from the store instead of using urine? Well, don't you think there is a difference?
