go to the site.
left click on taskbar & start task manager. make sure you are showing all processes, click the cpu usage column and find out what's taking up all the processing power.

You know what m8,yeah i do that all the time and the only process that is initiating all the activity is the system idle process,i really think that process is sending information from my PC to elsewhere,yes i really do

Commodo firewall allows you to view all active connections per process & total data transfered. Others probably do the same or similar. Or a network monitor gadget would a least show if your connection also goes into overdrive when you connect to the sites.
Peerguardian2 will block any ip addres thats on it's blacklists for added protection. You can monitor all outgoing & incomming connectoins to all servers also. It's all info that can help you narrow it down.
