Hi sam... They are both minefields... Are you talking about recieving one those therapies or specialising in one of them.... If you are thinking about specialising I would stay shy of the art therapy for the time being.... I have a friend who specialised in art therapy after qualifying as a crisis counsellor... She said that a lot of her clients got into bad habits of producing work that they thought might interest her rather than just being spontaneous... I do know that you are a very good artist, and that may sway you, but I also get the impression that you like a challenge.. If you are not up for a challenge stay away from psychoanalysis altogether.. Do not self administer either.. I know that eliakim is into books on seeking your inner child... They can cause more problems than good as they can sometimes initiate memories that are not completely true memories...If you are working with a qualified analyst/ counsellor you at least have the help to sort out the facts from the fiction...

i appreciate the reply, yes i was thinking of studying art therapy/ psychotherapy, i thought it could add some meaning to my life, in helping people, but i guess, all art is therapy in a way, the only difference is you dont inherently call your audience "patients" or "sick" haha!

maybe i'm wrong about that, but i made a reply earlier on in this thread which i thought fulfilled some of the "critical thinking" so "longed for", and it wasn't responded to. thought they were some interesting quotes. i also saw iamthatiam ripping into this person, and i came to the conclusion, critical thinking is alive and well, and if i am to be critical and THINK about this thread now: IF dtv is dying, it is dying because of morons who keep making threads saying "it's dying it's dying", boy crying wolf, reducing the credibility of it, filling it with spam, yknow?

i like the idea of helping people in prisons or troubled youths, i imagined it would keep me on my toes, that i would "keep it real", automatically, because i really just, need to. but maybe it is the idea of helping i like more than actually helping. hmm :/

as for the inner child therapy, i imagine it is scared of "the rapy" xD

Is Eve not a grieving widow ?

Has anyone definitive proof of this ? If not, would it not be the wisest of choices to assume that Eve genuinely is who she says she is, whether getting drunk and venting or not ? I mean, can you imagine how you would feel if you were in her place and then suddenly the one place you turn to for support in dark times turns on ?. That would be unspeakably cruel. Until such a time as definitive proof of manipulation and deceit surfaces I think its best if we just send our love and condolences. As the alternative is unspeakably cruel in my opinion, especially if you are wrong.

I see no end goal or tactic in doing that, I see no reason to do so. Sympathy ? Nah, for what reason, the guilt in doing such would be unbearable, especially seeing as alreadydead was an original member of DTV, and I believe was part of the skype DTV community too.

I believe it is better to take someone at their word in situations such as these.

I would be absolutely crushed if I read some of the comments on here, and that tragedy was indeed genuine.

Just think about it.

And if I am wrong, then I am glad he is still out there. I myself have a high humour threshold. In fact, I hope it is a wind up, sadly, I do not think so at all.

I know how to read between the lines, however from my understanding, there has been no disclosing that Eve is a fake ?. There has been no hinting that it is a hoax by Eve (it has been played straight, as far as I know) Now if the computer she is using is the same as her husband used to use, then that would be the same IP, I saw reference to a birth date on her profile being the same as alreadydeads ? Well that is not proof in and of itself, is it ?.

Do you think this is a slow transition into another persona by the same person ? From male to female ? Making the name of the previous persona have a deeper meaning ?. Substituting Eve for Steve, so that Eve could get sympathy for Steve who is actually Eve while others grieve, but he actually has a card up his sleeve ?.

All I know is, I am a very perceptive person, and from what I saw and read both in posts and responses lead me to believe this is actually genuine, I mean why would anyone do that (playing it straight ?). If this was a hoax ? Would the joke not have worn thin, after say, the second page of the original thread ?. Making everything else that follows a grave error for a poster that is one of the original members.

Can I tell you that you are wrong ? No, but if you are, what then ?. A sorry would not be quite enough to make up for an upset like that. Whereas, the other way around is not really important, so long as everyone is okay ?. I mean we are all under pseudonyms on here ? And if it does indeed boil down to a clever transition from one persona to another, what does it matter ? It is only a forum, but the opposite is real world based, and that is where true feelings are found.
