I had posted this on Slush's thread but I was wondering if anyone else thinks this also. Or maybe anyone has any input...nice or evil it doesn't matter. And no I'm not a NWO supporter.

Please don't throw rotten tomatoes at me, but I think the guidestones offer a good message.

Suppose the world came about a cataclysmic event in which almost everyone perished. The guidestones would offer ways to avoid the problems that exist in the world today.

Not many people can get past the first sentence "Keep the number of people under 500 000 000 (500 million), so a balance with nature is achieved" and believe that is a hint that our governments are culling the herd (which I do believe they are, but that is another topic for another day) and only that.

The world is overpopulated and we are using up the earths resources at a faster rate than what we can replace, although there are still many ignorant people who disagree with this.

The world is in chaos and it is detrimental to all when one country goes postal and decides to blow up another. We (all countries) do need a way to be able to communicate their thoughts to one another to be able to avoid these catastrophes. This does not mean a single language should be used by all, but more of a universal consciousness to achieve a common goal of peace.

The people of the new emerging world need to learn how to control themselves against acting on their negative impulses. Just like we teach our children..."control yourself" (disagree if you want).

Fair laws and just courts is totally reasonable. Everyone should be tried fairly...and if any of you are old enough to remember the American teen who was caned quite a few years back in Singapore for vandalism and theft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_P._Fay). This caused a huge uproar in America because that is not how things are handled there. A world court or laws on how reasonable punishments should be handled makes sense to me (again, disagree if you want).

And we should all live in harmony with the earth (yeah, I'm a hippie) because if we don't we end up destroying what we have.

So, I guess it is all in how you interpret what the stones mean. To me they make sense.

Can't you tell by who did the graffiti? These people are the lowest common denominator of the U.S. They'd rather believe that Jesus is gonna come down from the sky on a cloud and save all of them than believe that they could actually be having an effect on the planet with spitting out multiple babies and eating their McDonalds and shopping at WalMart as usual. Left to their own devices, they'd revert back to a society not unlike Fundamentalist Islam. Hell they can't even 'tag' with proper grammar.

This goes for other nations as well. Anyone who worships a woman holding a baby and uses that as a role model for their culture combined with their own pre-christianised pagan superstitions instead of education is going to cause your country some problems if they're invading and multiplying at a rapid rate.

I can't wait till the worlds fisheries diminish to the point of extinction and the top soils of the farmlands are flooded and end up as runoff to the rivers, and the crop diversity is wiped out due to the homogenization of Fertilizer companies and the genetic deficiencies truly begin to show up in our gene pool due to the genetic manipulation of our food just for profit, and the nutballs of our world become increasingly religious and their zealotry boils over to the governments to start a world war. The saddest part is, what will probably be left is survivalist religious nutballs who cluster in small colonies and will begin to attempt to spread their ideology and exact reasoning on "why God did this to them" to the rest of the people trying to spread their own bullshit. Hopefully they'll just wipe eachother out at that point.
