You might like:
Abolitionist leader Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County, Maryland.
He became one of the most famous intellectuals of his time, advising presidents and lecturing to thousands on a range of causes, including women’s rights and Irish home rule.
Among Douglass’ writings are several autobiographies eloquently describing his experiences in slavery and his life after the Civil War.
My home is in Maryland and the original owner Rev John White was also an Abolitionist.
Our home was a safe place for slaves from 1863 to 1899 when the house burnt down.
The image of the spirit of Frederick Douglass was captured in my back yard on a 200 year old tree on December 19th 2012.
Is this just a coincidence?
You tell me!
