You have to wonder what they're thinking. All this damage and alienating the next generation of Republican activists and volunteers, and for what? The Ron Paul people weren't going to do anything too outrageous, they just wanted to be included, and treated with respect.

Even if they had made a fuss, the media would have just dismissed them as the usual, over enthusiastic libertarian minority, and promptly moved their attention back on to Romney, the big speeches, Clint and his chair etc.
