The Internet : Where religions come to die... and new cults rise from their ashes.
The Internet : Where you'll always find someone who agrees with you, no matter what your opinion is.
The Internet... such a fascinating mirror on humanity.
If aliens were able to log on to the human internet, do you think they'd still want to get to know us ? Picture an alien posting his first message on DTV : "Hello, I am from Sirius." , followed by 17 pages of LMFAO, pictures of ORLY owls, lolcats and overly obese women, NWO-scumbag rants and religious flame-wars. Would you sift trough the crap, take the insults and spend way too much time trying to eplain your intention... or would you start looking for another interesting place in the vast universe ?
What if we somehow were able to log on into an alien internet... Would it be something very different from ours ? Or am I just thinking too human ?

Good video, but only one problem with that:
As much "scrutiny" as the internet puts on a religion, the fact of the matter is, if those that put scrutiny on a religion die off, and they do not have as many children as those who follow a religion and indoctrinate their children, and threaten those that would question their religion with death (Dutch Cartoonist, Western Civilization), threaten those that would leave their religion with death (apostasy, sharia law), threaten all those who oppose their religion with death, then eventually, the whole world will succumb to that religion, even if no conflict ever arises, because it doesn't take a conflict to take over. It just takes breeding like rabbits in a typically religious way and traditional culture upbringing to maintain that status quo.
Unless something is changes within the islamic community, they will doom the world to their religious ideology.

The continuing immigration of Muslims into Europe and North America is going to hurt for the short term, but I do not think it is "the end". From what I have seen, all it takes is one generation for a lot of culture to breed out, and by the time immigrants have grandkids, those grandkids are usually assimilated 80-90% at least. The problem with Muslim immigrants is that they are so conservative, and with the Quran being in Arabic, you will not see the loss of language amongst the Arab speakers (though it may happen with the Pakistanis etc).
The funny thing about America and Islam... America ALWAYS changes the religion of the immigrants... Those who come here either LOSE their religion or else they become defensive (and extreme). So, not all Muslims who come here will be fighting "for" the cause of Islam. The rather "simple" solution would be to encourage Muslims to start taking responsibility for their brothers and for MUSLIMS to address the fundamentalist issue. They should be monitoring themselves.
Another issue I have noticed while in the Islamic community is that it is far more common for US-born Muslims of 2nd generation immigrants to become extreme than any other group. In my opinion, this has a lot to do with their parents romanticizing about the culture in the home country combined with these kids' comfortable and safe lifestyles in the US. These kids might visit their parents' home countries while growing up, but they are completely separated from the problems of these home countries that is caused by Islam. If we take a look at colonial history, it becomes easy to see why then these kids cling to the negative influences of Westerners as THE source of problems in their parents' home countries... And how ironic that the solution is to immigrate to the West. So these kids- with one foot in the east and one foot in the west- find a solution to their identity problems by swearing allegiances to Muslims (the "victim") and the Islamic "cause" of destroying the west while enjoying a relatively affluent lifestyle in western countries. Fortunately, these are a minority.
I do not think population demographics are the final doom for the West. When Muslims immigrate, once again, they assimilate- including birth rates. Muslim friends of mine all came from families with 5-6 kids, but they themselves only want 1-3 kids. All of them, even the most conservative of them, see the hypocrisy of suicide bombers, death threats against cartoonists, and understand how people are being manipulated by their governments. There is little danger from the vast majority of second generation Muslim immigrants to fall headfirst into fundamentalism. The only danger they pose is in their wishy-washy attitudes. They can see both sides of the issue, they agree with points of each side of the issue, but then they decide to just 'stay out of it'... And while they are "staying out of it", they decide to give some money to charity instead (which somehow ends up getting hijacked by fundamentalists). They just aren't rising up to their responsibilities.
