The Israel Lobby

Dispatches on channel 4 ran a good programme last night about the influence of the Israel Lobby in the British parliament. The "friends of Israel" operate on all sides of the house, funding all the major parties and making sure that party rhetoric is never critical of Israel.
In my opinion it is an outright disgrace and seriously threatens the integrity of the British parliamentary system.

They not only give money to the parties but also to individual MPs. They then urge parliament to put pressure on media outlets who criticize the behaviour of the state of Israel; including the Guardian and the BBC.

It's interesting to note the distance between the views expressed by different media outlets. The programme made some incredible claims, yet it seems they have not ben discussed. Instead we are faced with the usual "anti-semitic" mud-slinging and none of the real issues merit comment.
