I thought maybe we could have one master thread with all of the mass animal die-offs. I encourage you to add more. The general format should be as follows:
Date (Year/Month), Location, Quantity and Type of Animal, Link to News Source
This should keep it easy for people to read, follow, and find any specific die-offs. It will also make it easier to spot any type of patterns.

In the spirit of this post by Cageyone23, I will start off with Cageone's post and a good chunk of my list that I compiled in March 2011.

Great post Poooooot, Maybe the story regarding the starfish that I posted was incorrect (pays to do homework first) date wise, but

Oh cool. i wonder if they can merge the posts... :think:

edit: It doesn't look like he linked back to any original sources in his list, but a quick google search can confirm most of them.

edit2: after reading that thread, maybe they shouldn't be merged. It seems the only information was in the OP. The rest were just comments on the die-offs, not listing any more. :oops:

I saw that while searching. It seems they only posted the ones from January 2011 (which there were a lot of)... Unless I am dumb and reading it wrong.
