A new subspecies? .. give me a freaking break.. A psychopath is one of the "oldest" forms of humanities vileness of nature (remember the "Cain slew Abel Story?" )
A psychopath has no emotional attachment to their actions, they lack "remorse", moral cognition, and are very, very calculating. cold, and when looked in the eyes, are completely "dead pan" , nothing, zero emotion regardless of circumstances ( a perfect soldier)..
Thing is, a psychopath, is also the most perfect gentleman, the nicest "guy" or "girl" you would want to meet (Jeffrey Dahmer, and others come to mind) and you would feel proud to let them in your house, share your food, and when you wake up in the middle of the night, looking up, and seeing a cold, black emotionless pair of eyes that have more in common with a sharks then a humans, while feeling the sharp pain of a dull blade (which woke you up) being drawn across your neck, preventing you from screaming as you gurgle and choke on your own blood. As you begin to slowly feel your life slipping away, you realize in that brief moment, that "nothing" is ever what it seems..
True Psychopath's, seek out emotions, they seek out events, places, and people, that can hopefully provide some connection to what emotions "feel" like, rather then "logically feel" by thought, rather then emotion.. You will find them "everywhere" that battles and blood are, every place that draws extreme emotional states from people who "feel" emotions, not think them through..
Those that go off the deep end, are so desperate for an understanding of what emotion really "is", they will do many horrible things, many morally wrong things to try and "understand" what emotion means, what it "feels like".. Jails are not full of Psychopath's, as they are few, and far between...
Your not a "real" Psychopath, as you call into question your existence (an emotional response) .. be glad you do...

Psychopaths are emotional vampires - they need to feed off real human emotion, since they lack them - be it fear, panic, pain and pleasure, etc.
And like the vampire, they exist within their own world of darkness and solitude (within themselves), they have lost their soul (or humanity) and draw their power from what they believe will keep their personia alive - human emotion. They have no remorse - because that's a human atribute of which they have no real understanding - feeling real emotion for a living creature is beyond them - since they are dead within themselves.
They are lost souls, the light has gone from them and like vampires, they still physically walk the earth, but are not really alive.

Do you think this is something that happens to someone through life journey or they are born this way?

Perhaps bipolar or borderline but never a psychopath. I know because I am a psychopath. I never have to forgive myself for anything. It's part of lacking remorse.
I ban admitted psychopaths. Don't take it personally, there are just too many of them trying to overrun this site.
Sociopaths, too...
I'm sure you understand.
Goodbye.
You are not as much of a twat as some of the twats who think you are a twat...

In my opinion, it's an ability (for want of a better word) that lurks within all humans, what triggers the loss of humanity and the birth of the the 'vampire' remains a mystery - environment, family, loss, ill-treatment or abuse, bad childhood, mental disorders, demonic possession, the list of possible triggers are endless - but the end result can be the Psychopath.
What is clear, they have either discarded, lost or suppressed their humanity, or maybe the ability to truely love - that's a powerful, sometimes uncontrolable, deep human emotion - and they must always remain in control - at all times.

I always understood that real psychopaths didn't actually realise they were psychopaths - and if they do.............well, their not psychopaths then........a sort of catch-22 for nutters......

The most unsettling aspects of this type of "person" is the seeming ability to go unnoticed because they are so "good" at being what people want them to be until they acquire what ever it is they are seeking.
Pretty creepy.

It is a very strange subject, working out who you are can be a life-long conquest of searching many subject matters.
I for one, have broken the cycle of having good things happen, then bad, then over again. Believe in good within you & forgive yourself, then in time you forgive even those you hate or hold bad feelings towards (forgiveness collapses time! - quote David Wilcock). The weight of burden is gone never to return.
You become freed from the cycle, I still worry about cash but I have total inner-peace. I hope not to get banned for discussing that I think I was for 22 odd years of my life a psychopath. Now 36 years old and an ex-psychopath with positivity at the core of my soul.
I could be wrong of my view of 'alien teachers' but its all good.
