THE best photograph yet of the so-called Loch Ness Monster has been taken by a veteran Nessie hunter, it was claimed today.
George Edwards took the picture of a dark hump in the water near Urquhart Castle at Drumnadrochit at 9am last November, but sent it for analysis in the United States before publishing it today.
Fellow monster hunter Steve Feltham said: “It is the best photograph I think I have ever seen.”
Mr Edwards, 60, has been searching for the creature for 26 years and spends 60 hours a week on the loch, including leading tourist tours in his boat Nessie Hunter IV.
He said: “It was slowly moving up the loch towards Urquhart Castle and it was a dark grey colour. It was quite a fair way from the boat, probably about half a mile away.”
Mr Edwards said he watched the object for between five and ten minutes before it sank below the surface and disappeared.
He said: “I have friends in the USA who have friends in the military. They had my photo analysed and they have no doubt that I photographed an animate object in the water.”
