You're only afraid of losing a house if you have a house and are attached to it yes? So, what Grows is saying, is that by non-attachment, the Buddha taught the path to enlightenment. Not through rebirth, but through continuously finding those things to which you cling, and letting go.
Mugenroshi,
Yes, one of my reasons for exposing the science of reincarnation is for everyone to lose the fear of death. Personally, I'm not scared of anything with the exception of meeting Janet Jackson and having bad breadth - me or her!

I don't fixate on "consciously finding those things to which you cling and letting go." Matter-of-fact, those skills that we have in one lifetime that truly help the common good should be found and used again in this lifetime, and next!

IOW, the mind is of the body. It will die. Consciousness goes on, expressed in every-body, able to manifest itself again and again, never dieing, just changing form. We "the mind" are tools of consciousness, and are finite. But if you look closely, perhaps you can see that while your individuality is useful, and worthy of respecting for what it's worth, it is not the individuality, but the life itself, which is truly grand, just as it always has been and always will be.
But it is so sad to think that all these memories, the love, the pain, the creativity, the outbursts of understanding and ignorance... All that I am... Will evaporate into nothing more than an electrical pulse... Don't you think?
It's a Clawspiracy...

Yes of course. This is just another manifestation of the mind expressing it's fear of death.
It's best to look at this aspect of the mind like a 'little kid'... that's probably never gonna grow up. I wouldn't suggest ignoring the pain of knowing the future, death is melancholy and a wise person keeps their eyes open, but it's your choice to dwell on it excessively, or to appreciate what you've got while you've got it.
The reality is that people suffer far more in the anguish of that future event, than the event itself could possibly cause. It's no good to waste a life crying about it, but that doesn't mean we must cover our eyes and lie to ourselves.

(The following is also a thread of its own.)
The Freemasons believe in four things from the Ancient Mysteries that are somewhat unique to the Society of Freemasonry: (1) God is the Grand Architect of the Universe [GAOTU], (2) sacred Geometry, (3) sacred Gematria, (4) reincarnation; which is first introduced to new members/Apprentices in the ritual of Hiram Abiff and his 'resurrection'. It should be noted that today, not all Masons are taught that transmigration of the soul and the immortality of the soul are the main points of this ceremony of achieving the 1st degree.
There are many Masons who do their homework and learn about the Ancient Mysteries. There are others who don't and are uninformed. The Shriners used to be only 32 & 33 degree Freemasons. A few years back, they lowered the eligibility to the 3rd degree Master Mason in an attempt to increase their membership. Their numbers are still in decline. This lowering of 'academic standards' is indicative of all of today's Freemasonry. Matter-of-fact, it's indicative of society in general.

(5) Our soul is attracted to the name our creators (parents/ancestors) bestow on us – its meaning and gematria(8,74).
Non-coincidental synchronic reaction of 8/26/10
While I was in St. Augustine, FL this week on vacation with my girlfriend, I came across the book: The Magdalene Awakening by L. Shannon Andersen (Pelican Press, 2008). Looking through its Index, I found it referred to: Sacred Geometry, Gematria, Gematria of Mary Magdalene, master numbers, reincarnation, 'Reincarnation: the Missing Link in Christianity', synchronicity, Carl Jung, Kaballa, and several other mystical/esoteric topics that I'm interested in. I explained to the owner of the small used bookstore, "Because it refers to gematria, I'll buy it." "What's gematria?" she asked. "It's the Greek word for geometry and in English it means 'the geometry of our language' - namely the elemental letter-number substitution of A=1 thru Z=26. Did you know English has this very simple math code to it?" "No, I didn't - this is fascinating!" "Now consider this: Simple=74, English=74, and Gematria=74. This is NOT numerology. The main rule of gematria is words with the same gematric sum have a connect to each other - connect=74." "Wow!" "Now the only irregularity is the circle, it can be either the 15th letter or zerO, like GOD=7_4. Do you follow me?" "Yes". "Ok, and if we write it as a date, 7/4 = July 4th. Many of our Founding Fathers were Freemasons and they practiced sacred gematria & sacred geometry - which is also listed in the Index of this book." "All our Founding Fathers were Freemasons!" She replied. "No, not all, Adams & Jefferson were not. But at least nine signers of the Declaration, including Ben Franklin and John Hancock were, and George Washington was. Those were the main three behind the American Revolution and they were all Grand Master Masons." I had paid for the used book and my girlfriend was waiting in the car. I shook hands with her and gave her the paper that I had written out the above on. "I'm Brad, by the way, and you are?" "Susan." I laughed and said, "That's very coincidental! And this book is all about this women's coincidences involving gematria. Susan=74." "Really?!" I wrote out the math for her. "S=19,u21,s19,a1,n14. I've got a couple essays in the car I can give you on this stuff." (Thunder was heard right then.) "Oh, I'd like that." I went out to the car - Brenda wasn't happy waiting, but grabbed two essays and went back in the store and gave them to Susan. "I don't know if you can handle this, but the reason you were named 'Susan' is so this moment would align - it's a reincarnation thing." "Oh ya, I believe that!" "But this stuff isn't just 'belief' - it's science and I just proved it."
Earlier that day, we had visited the old Spanish fort - a National Park - and I gave several essays of The Masonic(7,74) Code(4) of July 4, 1776 to the park rangers, a historian in period clothes, and a volunteer. I later gave a copy to a store owner who was selling several books on the Masons and Jim was fascinated with 'the GOD=7_4 Code' when I spoke to him the day before. After I left Susan at the bookstore, we went back to the hotel and I turned the TV on to the ABC World News. "The stock market went down 74 points today." Huh, wasn't that 'coincidental'?

I wrote a thread: the-7-seals-beyond-einstein-theories-are-revealed-t30953.html I'm in the process of taking each one of the 7 seals/beyond Einstein theories and creating its own thread. One of the 'seals' is the theory & 15 principles of reincarnation. That thread will look alot like this one.
