Holly Greig is your doughter? Say it isn't so..

It would appear that the forum member Malogg, is trying to express his Duality, always at war with yourself.. how can you escape this impossible bondage?

There is another type of mirror:

as i walk to the vanity,to clean my hands
there the mirror sits, above the sink
a piece of glass, with a reflection in it
and i wonder why its called a vanity
no amount of water can clean the filth from my reflection
that reflection of vanity i seem so intent on

the mirror
the vanity

as wash my hands, staring at my reflection
im affraid that the reflection is all i am
turning away from the mirror and walking away
vanity vanity
it never answers, leaving me to my own thoughts
the mirror just sits above the vanity
so i try to leave it there and not take it with me,into my thoughts

i pretend its not laughing at me
but for some reason i think that its laugh is echoing in the laughter of the other folks i share the planet with

fuckin vanity

According to Lacan, the first time we look in a mirror we are fooled into thinking we are one complete entity, and we stick with this illusion our whole lives, however, he argues we are in fact like a broken mirror, of many parts which are all competing with each other. He calls this the fractured personality, all elements of which fight to dominate each other. Its an interesting idea, not sure I buy it, but thought I would add it to the discussion if no one else has already.

When you look into the mirror think of it as an opportunity. You can ask your self what ever question you want the answer too and you will be without a doubt that the answer you get or what you hear will be the truth. A mirror is just that. An opportunity to talk to some one that wont lie to you. :)
A black-hole is not a hole it's a sphere. As will be the universe when compressed into the smallest unit it can be.

I look in the mirror and say " g'day mate how ya goin " I see someone who has always worked hard, someone who appreciates his beautiful family, someone who has suffered terrible experiences, someone who has not dwelt on what could have been, someone who cares, someone aging but who still acts like a teenager, someone who is more pissed at injustices to others than to myself, someone who loves every single plant and creature on this planet, someone who lives life in the SLOW lane, someone who is very comfortable with how they have turned out, someone who don't need gadgets and gismos, someone that is humble but proud, someone that is a battler but are rich in what matters.

I like me.
I know what I stand for.
im comfortable in my old wrinkly skin.

the trouble is, I havnt always felt like this, age makes you realise what matters,
ive just chilled a lot and take time to smell the roses,
the older I get the more content I become,

The more people i meet, the more i like my dog

If Monday had a face I would punch it
