This IS Pathetic... Boycott Drudge

We all know what's going down in the United States with the 3rd person from the Presidency (Nancy Pelosi) being shown as a fraud because she is going after Bush for Inhanced Interogation, Yet She Knew All About It. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

Another funny part of this story is, that Drudge is, "conservative-leaning news aggregator", this is the epitomy of blatant. If anyone knows Drudge, they know the sources are vast, it's like AP, UPI and Getty. We see a white wash of the Drudge site.

The mantra, silence those that disagree, by any means possible!

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts directed employees earlier this month not to log onto the Drudge Report website with government-issued computers due to potential viruses on the site.

In an e-mail message sent May 4, Paul Harvey, an information-technology official for the Boston office, wrote that security specialists with the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the Department of Justice asked them “to reformat/reimage two computers because the user visited the drudgereport.com site.”

“Please avoid the Drudgereport website from the [United States Attorney’s Office] computers,” Harvey wrote.

Harvey said that if employees had a “work-related reason to visit the site,” access could be provided off the government network.

Asked why the conservative-leaning news aggregator and President Barack Obama critic was flagged by Internet security officials, Tracy Schmaler, a Department of Justice spokeswoman, said it was because “a malicious code was found contained in a Web ad on Drudge.”

Schmaler also said the request to stay off Drudge wasn’t politically motivated and said it was sent only to the office in Massachusetts. She also said other popular sites were later found to have potential viruses, including ESPN.com

I visit drudge and the drudge retort every day for the perfect example of how right and left can spin one story either way.

To be honest as far as right leaning media is concerned I don't find drudge all that bad. Granted they do tend to go out of their way to find a negative outlook on Obama and the democrats but nothing so radical it stops being news and becomes biased opinion without facts.

I prefer having both sides of any story. Drudge is one of those sites I use to balance out any thoughts I may have on Obama.

You got to remember though. When Bush was in office they banned the use of government computers for visiting or listening to air america. Pretty much had the same excuse.......fear of viruses that could attack the system.

I know the courts have ruled that private industry has the right to ban any sites from being visited on their networks as they see fit............not sure what the legalities are with the government.

I followed this story this afternoon and dug around a bit, bc I thought the same thing, but what it was, is there is an advertiser that uses flash pieces as their banner ads.

This had malware in it's code..
Espn has used the same ads, and had the same problems as well..

I cleared my history or i could provide a clearer picture and evena screenshot of the actual ad, but i cant find it..

Its one of the ads that resides either in the bottom left, and top bar....
same company..

The Flash part determines what browser you are running and then uses a shock headline to get a click, and then takes you to a site that downloads another piece to the code if you dont have popups cblocked.

yep. But that isn't a drudge site. That's the drudge retort. Some guy realized drudge forgot to register drudge.com so he snapped it up and began the drudge retort.
