I can't even count how many there are here.
Almost every state has it's own.

Hundreds, for instance I live in North Yorkshire, and the people in a city not 40 miles from me, Newcastle, have an accent that I find almost incomprehensible

I'm in Illinois (Chicago area) and we have a Chicago accent. Hard to explain it.
But people in southern Illinois sometimes have a southern accent.
People in the north, like Wisconsin and Minnesota have a Canadian accent.
New york and new jersey have their own.
Southern states all have their own.
Like Louisiana people have a very distinguished accent. It's almost like a southern accent mixed with a french accent.
Texas people have a different southern accent too.
Spock has the traditional southern accent. He's in one of the Carolina. North or south.
People in Georgia have that old school southern accent.
People in California have a stupid accent. It depends on where you live there though.
The valley girl or surfer accent. Just sound like stuck up morons.
Boston has it's own accent. From the Irish. But it's not Irish. Weird.
And then there's the common American accent that most people have and that's the accent everyone hears on tv. Like the news or movies.

Funny thing about accents, if you travel they adjust' My sister and I were born and lived a good part of our lives in Scotland. She's lived in Texas now for 35 years and has a texas accent, I've lived in England for 35 years and have an English accent, but when we talk to each other on Skype for any length of time bit's of a Scottish accent emerge.

Yep. My friend's brother was born and raised here in Chicago and he now lives in Australia.
Now he sports the Australian accent. But when he drinks his American accent comes out.
