All major illegal file sharing sites will be blocked to US traffic (Pirate Bay, Isohunt, Demonoid, etc etc)

All users attempting to access material on these sites via workaround software will be tracked and reported, and possibly prosecuted and even incarcerated by the corporations that monitor and track those sites (mostly identified by third party tracking companies)

Social streaming sites will be heavily edited to US traffic, YouTube and the likes.

People uploading anything that they do not own in its entirety will become targets.

However, that is just the tip of a very large and sinister ice berg.

Google and other browsers will have to edit traffic and results as in China and Saudi Arabia. Browsers by far will have the hardest times. As they represent the very biggest threat, as the structures upon which they are built, is based upon linking to information.

So along with the great firewall of China, there will be a great firewall of America.

All websites where traffic and users are allowed to post and link to material are to become targets, such as Disclose TV. Those linking to infringing materials are whether unknowingly or not, will become targets.

Freedom of speech will be effectively destroyed for those caught in its grasp.

Forums and blogs will be heavily neutered and those running them responsible for their posts and content if infringement is rife. (Lukas should be worried)

However it is the little things you do not think about. Like your avatars on Blogs and forums, which are 9 times out of 10, illegal images, as in you do not own the images.

It is still considered the same as downloading an album. There is no difference in law. Infringement is infringement. Fair use notices will be trampled over and mean nothing any longer. (So people who make spoofs and comedic reviews of movies and the like also become targets) as well as documentary film makers who tend to rely on a lot of these methods as educational Fair use.

The implications of this bill are vast, and far reaching, like a domino effect the world over.


Who is behind it and why ?

Rupert Murdoch and other key corporate figureheads, who lost key battles in the online industry in ventures such as MySpace and the like, they then turned against that world, (after failure) and joined a joint venture with the music industry (EMI, SONY etc etc) and mass media studios, such as (Fox, Paramount, Universal, etc etc)

The reason for this is that the music industry is facing mass losses, as the devaluation of music the world over happened with the invention Napster and other file sharing mp3 sites. Scene sites (usually reserved for private members) became open and the new p2p generation was born with major advancements in sharing technology such as Bit Torrent (which the sceners hated due to the fact that it put their safe little operations at great risk) now that everyone could access their content. All films released and encoded to a specification with a group name (axxo, maven, eztv, etc etc) are all scene specific groups that used to work in the shadows and via underground networks. This all changed when it became possible for just anyone with a little skill to access their content as it was being leaked to other places, which eventually ended up with major indexing sites for these leaks out of the scene, such as (isohunt, mininova, and of course The Pirate Bay), however, 99% of scene releases still remain behind closed servers.

The scene included high level studio execs and big wigs who used to trade and share their content, outside of their contractual obligations. The scene got bigger over time and exploded in the mid to late 90s.

The scene covers everything, from images, to magazines, to music and film. and the illegal distribution of said content to trusted members.

The scene wishes to keep itself separate from p2p, and only has small trusted groups.

If you have ever downloaded a film that is not officially out yet or that is made to a specification, then it has come from a scene group. Which hijack and distribute it, which then leads to a filter down process until it eventually ends up on an indexing site such as the Pirate Bay.

A film can be anything from a week to a few months old by this point in the scene.

I am not talking cam jobs here, I am talking high quality made to specifications media.

So there is that angle, that is the official angle of why SOPA is being pushed, however it has a far more sinister meaning, and that is that it will also affect online journalism, which is the only source of truthful and unedited news that humanity now has. If you can find a good source that is not associated with AP (Associated Press), and goes out and conducts genuine journalism and not just rely on AP press packs. Their ability to function correctly will be compromised, and that is not just a war on piracy, that is a war on information. One which Rupert Murdoch and the likes have been very cunning at playing so far.

Why is this battle so important ? Because this is a stepping stone to the world wide policing of the internet.


It can never truly work, you must understand, but it can work well enough as to turn the internet into an apparently information friendly zone to those who wield the power to censor it.

So you may want to consider shoving that bill up the asses of those pushing it.

Because this place will be first to go, as it is rife with illegal content and postings every single day, at least officially anyway.

I seen the video on this too. I use "isuhunt" alot and have been for years. It is funny that a government that steals everything is behind this.

As far as hollywood and the music industry goes, maybe if they made better stuff people would pay to goto the movies and buy music again. Hollywood seems to be in the business of stealing other peoples ideas and REMAKING them, and they are behind SOPA. They need to look at their uncreative selves and see why people do not buy the garbage they put out!

As far as the music industry goes they need to start finding real talent again, people would pay to see great bands, but nobody is running to the music store for the latest Lady GaGa record...in fact they should pay me to listen to that garbage!

This probably comes to corroborate the fact that there is a behind scenes take over, from the part of the chinese...not just the corporations being permeated by them, but the 'whole lot'...The whole ongoing traffic of influence from the toptip of their fukin castles, till the street gangster, tentacles of the same entity....That's it guys, that's proof enough to me, 'they' are based on China...The "You know who" ppl!!!
