I'd bet there are thousands and thousands of US Troops that don't agree with what we're doing around the world, and many of them who are passionate against US policy. When the shit hits the fan, they won't hesitate to listen to their own consciences.

For the rest of us, we can practice war games, look into military combat strategies, and get up to speed as much as we like...all in the name of video games and paintball.

We've already seen how difficult it can be, even for the world's most advanced army, when just a few citizens band together for something they believe in...

...so that's step one. If you're gonna get serious about this, the first thing you have to do is name the cause. It has to be a single, solitary focus...something that you have to agree with in order to be part of this. Otherwise, there will be immediate dissent and a lack of unity. It can't be fifteen reasons. It has to be one single cause, something that every agent is willing to keep fighting for, no matter what happens. What would it be?

I disagree.

Assuming you're saying that the armed forces or national guard will put the squeeze on us by shutting down our utilities, I don't think they can. Your talking about dispersing maybe a few hundred thousand soldiers to cover every utility station in the country. That's only a handful of troops at each station. There is no way that just a few soldiers are going to hold back a county full of angry citizens who are all carrying guns. There is no way in the world. The power would come right back on.

So, when you really take the time to decide what is actually required to do this, you'll see that there's no point in claiming that people are unprepared, when they don't really need much at all.
