Time for a U.S. Revolution - Fifteen Reasons
It is time for a revolution. Government does not work for regular people. It appears to work quite well for big corporations, banks, insurance companies, military contractors, lobbyists, and for the rich and powerful. But it does not work for people.

The 1776 Declaration of Independence stated that when a long train of abuses by those in power evidence a design to reduce the rights of people to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it is the peoples right, in fact their duty to engage in a revolution.

Martin Luther King, Jr., said forty three years ago next month that it was time for a radical revolution of values in the United States. He preached "a true revolution of values will soon cause us to question the fairness and justice of many of our past and present policies." It is clearer than ever that now is the time for radical change.

Look at what our current system has brought us and ask if it is time for a revolution?

Over 2.8 million people lost their homes in 2009 to foreclosure or bank repossessions - nearly 8000 each day - higher numbers than the last two years when millions of others also lost their homes.

At the same time, the government bailed out Bank of America, Citigroup, AIG, Bear Stearns, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the auto industry and enacted the troubled asset (TARP) program with $1.7 trillion of our money.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom—go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!"

Samuel Adams, speech, Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty . . . And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Stevens Smith, November 13, 1787

if 9/11,2 unjust wars and a financial collapse hasn't done it,i really hate to see what atrocity it will take to see this happen.

The real estate thing always bugged me....native american lands sold by white settlers, whose "appraisal" to the highest bidder dictates the rates and prices.

One, it is bad enough to conspire with other settlers, against another nation, to take them and their land hostage, and Two, it is even worse that they all rob the native, and then turn to rob each other playing this illusion of grandeur, without a king........but it is even funnier to see a real estate agent tell me how much the land costs, and watch them con everyone out of their money for a home that has been mass produced like their soda pop six packs! The average 3 br home, two story, will cost 50-75k in materials and labor.......the rest is the "value" (or how much the city and the many services want to tax you). It is amazing to see a house on a lot for a half a million knowing the land, and everything else on it cost about 1/4 - 1/5 of the total.......it is such a sham.

Here's part of the reason everyone lost their homes.

We used to pay hardly anything for rent, now it is over half our salary/wages on the average.....so banks created a nifty way to help get you into that subdivision to raise your 2.3 children, mortgages......which now is the full amount of your house's "value" and you have 20+years before you can call it yours, while it "appreciates" in value for the local tax man to cost you more, while the bank gets ready to collect in any way they can, the second you miss a couple of payments, usually because of jacked up tax rates on property "value".
There's no security if, for instance, you have made 100k in payments.....that's a ton of money and took over a decade, but because of some a**hole at work, you lose your job, and the payments fall behind and you forfeit that investment.........there's no "value" until you pay the whole loan and are free from "convenient payments".

And the inflation rates of house sales and mortgages is increasing the same.
And as the houses are getting cheaper to build (the builders become more efficient, and developers are buying up land in the outskirts cheaply, while bringing big city taxes to small town people) the increased "value" has brought that much more in debt to each than ever before, being compounded by so many variables............. people don't have the traditional economic securities like before.......now we see that the same house that in the 50's, used to cost 100k to build is now considered a mansion and fetches sometimes up to ten times that figure.

These are merely ways they have fancied themselves trading in the wealth of others in hopes of maintaining control over the laborers, the same imperial lie and illusion, without any of the "commonwealth" ideals that should be here as dignified foundations of our process of dividing things equally, and providing an equal opportunity to advance their livelyhood.

I am for R-evolution (our revolution), but it will be a Native American King, who is the fabled return of Quetzalcoatl.to set these lands free, and give us the "forty acres and a mule" as promised, Then when each man has a piece....there will be peace.

Let's give it back to the ruling members of the tribes, let them govern the nation the way we have asked for it to be, the land of the free, the home of the brave.

My view of the world changed during a 1991 Hurricane.Three hours before it hit the US east coast every one ran for the only store selling batteries, flash lights ect.All the rich cut the long line of people so they could be first to get supplies. The real kicker was no one said any thing.I dare you to try that again.

Even if a revolution was necessary and it isn't. Putting our country into a state of disarray would leave us the "US" open to invasion from our ever impatient loan sharks "Investors" China, our rivals in all things war that is Russia both of which are communist. Also neither of these countries have their military force spread to thin around the world. As it stands now we are hard press to stop the invasion of illegal immigrants, yet most of us have jobs and fat bellies. We still have our cable tv and internet and any number of things to occupy those idle hands. All in all its the same screwed up, hypocritical, self loathing country I love to call home. On a serious note however anyone with a passion to change his country should run for office. You could get my vote.

the only thing thats gonna start a revolution is when they start kicking in doors and rounding up us citizens to go into fema camps and people see the truth finally, nothing else will make the people stand up and take arms against the govt, we are to reliant on tecnoligy and we like it ,it's adicting we need our internet and cars and cell phones and shit that seems to make life easier, it's how the dumbed us down, plus all the additives in the food we eat help make us docile and lazy.thats why they put salt peter in prision and military food,to help with sertain urges, another form of keeping us in line.
