I'm sorry (i guess,as it is negative) but this is the real world,as most of us no doubt have just had a big delicious meal,a beer or two and some sticky toffee pudding...the scraps goto the dog or just dumped in the bin,the gameshow starts soon after....meanwhile...

Today, over 22,000 children died around the world
http://www.globalissues.org/article/715 ... -the-world :rtft:

Over 22,000 children die every day around the world.

That is equivalent to:

•1 child dying every 4 seconds
•15 children dying every minute
•A 2010 Haiti earthquake occurring almost every 10 days
•A 2004 Asian Tsunami occurring almost every 10 days
•An Iraq-scale death toll every 18–43 days
•Just under 8.1 million children dying every year
•Some 88 million children dying between 2000 and 2009

The silent killers are poverty, hunger, easily preventable diseases and illnesses, and other related causes. Despite the scale of this daily/ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve, much less sustain, prime-time, headline coverage.

It's a sad commentary. It makes me terribly angry. And ultimately, there is fuck all I can do about it, really, which is the worst part. And the people who can do something about it don't, because it is probably what they want to happen. And dicks like BONO set up fake charities to defraud money from people while lying about helping these children. It's a vicious, miserable cycle.

Thanks for putting this out there. At least people can see it and know it's going on...

Yes mate, with you all the way, what can i do.I'm a hypocrit with my 'lavish' western world 'lifestyle' compared to the poor African's whom my heart goes out to.Well i think from this we can clearly get a strong sense that those in power, and by that those that can affect this satanic system the most, with their paper money and digital bank accounts, the self appointed 'elite',well they don't give a shit about humanity, they could if they really wanted to like you or i or 99% of the people we know....fix this very quickly...it really boggles my mind how this is so and i have the thought again in my head..here..we...go...

I've always been a pragmatist, so even though it is a terrible thing for so many children to die every day, people should not be bringing them into the world with no hope for life. :bang; It's sad because the children have no chance whatsoever and to be honest, there really is no room in the world for them as it is today. The Earth is way too overpopulated and rich Westerners won't give up anything they have even to the poor Westerners so unless we as a species undergo a massive fundamental change, children will continue to die. :top: Thanks for starting my week with a realistic perspective jonsey, good post.

OK maybe "overpopulated" isn't accurate, but the world is in no state to be trying to support 6 billion + people, that's all I'm saying.. I'm sure if us North Americans moved over and made some room, there would be more living space for alot of people but the average citizen doesn't make those decisions right? :peep:
