There's another fiber in this bit of image from Mars that's recently become famous by the name Mars Station Alpha.

I would really love to hear what Hoaxland thinks about that one Marduk, if it's in fact a station on Mars, a fiber from one of the NASA graphic artist's pubic hair, an alien base or a simply one more clue that ALL images from space are being generated with computer fractals technology

Yep just like plenty of NASA images and video disappear overnight from the internet or get replaced with prettier looking ones.

Fortunately this event was documented all over the internet before all trace about it disappeared.

In reality, this is not a space station, a Mars base or any type of structure – created or natural — on the surface of the Red Planet. What shows up in this location on Google Mars is just a smattering of about 11 bad pixels from data dropout – a linear streak artifact likely caused by a cosmic ray hitting the Mars Express spacecraft while it was taking the image – and then that smudge has been badly distorted through image processing when it became part of Google Mars.

“This looks like a cosmic ray hit,” said Tanya Harrison, planetary scientist on the science operations team for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Context Camera (CTX) and Mars Color Imager (MARCI) at Malin Space Science Systems. “We see these from time to time in the MARCI data from MRO.”

I posted this video in the Sun Anomalies Forum recently. After watching it a few times, I noticed something that appears regularly in the Red spectrum stereo captures. At first I thought that maybe it was a lens issue, so I looked at everything that I could find regarding lens/reflective issues. I found lots of information about this subject, but I could not find anything on this- specific- one. The articles and videos that I found related to this topic all regarded other lens issues, but nothing on this one.

The more I watched the video, the more I noticed that the "object" seemed to move around from time to time. Sometimes it was a little - in regards to our perspective of the imagery- north, sometimes farther east, and sometimes a little south of where it normally is. Sometimes, it was barely visible, sometimes it was blatant. Sometimes it was smaller, sometimes, appeared larger. Sometimes it was fully illuminated, sometimes, barely so. It never seemed to imitate the activity of the sun- in it's illuminations.The odd thing- if it is "something" other then a lens issue- is that it is often in a very close position- relative to the sun. As I watched more times, I began to notice occasional captures that seems as if there were some sort of interaction- between the Sun and the "object,"- or some sort of action- by the object- sometimes, towards the sun, and sometimes, in other directions altogether. Sometimes, it seems to interact with other "objects"- as you will see.

I took a whole series of screen shots to point out what exactly I'm talking about. Some of them have obvious- imo- reflective issues, or other apparatus issues, but some of them seem fairly "normal," in regards to what we are used to seeing with these images.

Take a look at the video first, if you want, but that's not really necessary. All the screen shots that follow, in chronological order, come from the first video. I played around with the idea of whether or not I should post this, so have been sitting on it for a bit. Today, though, I found a series of videos that seem to focus on this particular "object," and that prompted me to go ahead and post it. That video follows the stills. If it turns out to be a lens issue, I will move it to the appropriate forum- or delete it altogether.

Have any of you ran across any topics, articles, etc., that refer to this specific anomaly? If so, please share your findings.

Use a magnifying glass for the stills- if you have one. They don't show up as well in the stills as they do in the video. Once you've looked at the stills, go back and look at the 1st video, as you can see the item better in the video- and you will see it in the same approximate area.

Then watch the video that follows the stills. What do you guys think? Lens flare? or ...what? If it were lens flare, it would be imitative- in each particular image of the sun, in reflecting the flares, plumes, etc, but it differs every time. Anyway. I hope that you guys will participate in this, if nothing else, then with your opinion. Thanks.
