Tucson SWAT Team Defends Shooting Iraq Vet 60 Times

Image

A Tucson, Ariz., SWAT team defends shooting an Iraq War veteran 60 times during a drug raid, although it declines to say whether it found any drugs in the house and has had to retract its claim that the veteran shot first.

And the Pima County sheriff scolded the media for "questioning the legality" of the shooting.

Jose Guerena, 26, died the morning of May 5. He was asleep in his Tucson home after working a night shift at the Asarco copper mine when his wife, Vanessa, saw the armed SWAT team outside her youngest son's bedroom window.

"She saw a man pointing at her with a gun," said Reyna Ortiz, 29, a relative who is caring for Vanessa and her children. Ortiz said Vanessa Guerena yelled, "Don't shoot! I have a baby!"

Vanessa Guerena thought the gunman might be part of a home invasion -- especially because two members of her sister-in-law's family, Cynthia and Manny Orozco, were killed last year in their Tucson home, her lawyer, Chris Scileppi, said. She shouted for her husband in the next room, and he woke up and told his wife to hide in the closet with the child, Joel, 4.

Rush Limbaugh read a memo on the air during his broadcast which named William Cooper " the most dangerous radio host in America." Mr Cooper considered President Bill Clinton's pronouncement the greatest compliment that he had ever received

They should be embaressed, in the Army we are taught "one shoot, one kill", 60 rounds, what a waste of taxpayers money, cant even use assult rifles properly.

And worst of all its not illegal to posses drugs, the cases really have no legal standing because injury to the acussed cannot be proven, there are a million reasons you could have drugs in your house. And police or DEA cannot predict the future, so intent to sell is bullshit, and more of an "IRS" issue in regards to tax invasion of sales inside US borders,
If cops and DEA could predict the future there would be no dead cops, or this innocent veteran.

Well, golly, not that its a huge surprise, but you left off the most important stuff:

He was part of a crew of highly organized criminals
who were using their military backgrounds to execute
precision drug ripoffs and home invasions.

He was conducting countersurveillance on his own residence,
running license plate numbers of cars he perceived to be investigating him.
Drug gangs and criminals run counter-surveillance against Law Enforcement.

He knelt in the hallway with his Ar-15 and announced "I have something for you".

Dead....dumbass criminal..
He bought his own ticket.

I don't know all of the facts on this case, Just the facts the media has spread, but I do know that many people have been killed by the police going to the wrong house or having warrants and finding nothing. Sixty rounds in him and then lies to follow, make the police look more like the kill squads of old Germany. Don't ever forget Waco, or Randy weaver's family, or Bill Cooper who were murdered by law enforcement.

um girlfriend..

I wasn't responding to you.
I was responding to the OP.

If i was responding to you, it might have gone like this...

And for the record goofball, it is illegal to possess drugs.
THAT'S why the charges read "possession of xxxx"
when charges are brought against defendants.

Now go be silly somewhere else.

I don’t know the specifics of this case, but I know first hand that a lot of the Mexican drug cartels are having people go through the US military for many reasons, not just to learn combat tactics. What’s scary, is that they are not just having their people get into the lower ranks of the US military, they have an equal amount of people in the higher echelons as commissioned officers. Plus, it’s why you find so many Mexicans in particular US government jobs that are supposed to be fighting illegal immigration and drug importation. Some of them may not have loyalties to the US. Would you imagine an American running a Mexican police force? Or an American in charge of a Mexican military unit? Of course not. Only in America.

I do find the lady’s calm demeanor interesting, considering her loving husband and father to her children was blown to bits and pieces right in front of her. She seems more like a neighbor describing an event that happened down the street to complete strangers. Some of these Mexicans are a lower race of people, and I don’t say that as a racist, but I have seen them abandon their kids to avoid arrest and crawl over their dying mothers to rape their sisters.
