Ok,
So I have been reviewing this segment of video for a bit...and I have to say...I am baffled. If anyone has an explanation on what the hell this thing is...please...feel free to blast away and discount, discredit, or justify what this is. This started as a test that I *really* did not expect to find anything from...but sort of as my own test...to see if this "Sun Obliteration" technique was bogus or what not...I ran into a very surprising result...and caught two objects...one that really has me stumped...and another...uh...~could~ be some kind of pollen/dust....but looks like a ~jelly fish~ ???
Let me know what you think:

Cool. I think it's exactly what you think it is.
M gonna play "monkey see..." and see what I can come up with. Let's all, with cams, try it and compare our results.
Good job, Chronic.

In one hand I admire how you put that video together...catchy tune, timed perfectly I might ad.
Pindz and Kris if you are reading this, take a lesson from this guy how to make an entertaining
video...even if it is bugs flying around on a sunny day.

So, you think the first series of images is a bug? Really? Hmmm...I guess it could be...I had several segments where I was like "bug"...."dust"..."cotton wood"...."bug"....and most of the dust particles, bugs, and even pollen/cotton wood'ish type stuff was like semi-translucent...
But they didn't "glow"....I guess...if the wings were flapping fast enough and the angle of the light was just right it *could* generate a "flare" off of the wings...they are semi-reflective.
I am going to run a few more rounds over the next few days...just to see if I can capture what I think is a bug...and compare it to this video and/or anything else I think has ~potential~.
Being a "the simplest answer is typically the right one" type of a person... I can't argue the sound logic behind passing it off as a bug. However, there are a few frames where it looks more like a "circular object" that has lights fashioned around it...
Again...very well could be a bug...but then again...it got pretty cold where I was and I was estimating the point of focus that I was on, relative to the ground, was around 10-15k feet...maybe higher. I use this same camera to video tape the moon while it is connected to my Orion XT-8...I have some videos from that I might post today....and those videos...well...i will post and get opinions on those videos too.
Thanks for the honest feedback...it is blurry and really without better resolution/focus I figured it would be passed off as "naturally occurring".
Interesting stuff none-the-less...
Thanks for the props on the vid...I really can do better...but rushed it to just get this first set out there hoping others would try this technique and compare what they find as well.
I see at least one person was inspired...anyone else that has a camcorder and good line to the sun with a solid object to obliterate (occlude) the primary sun rays should post any video they capture. One way or another...I would be interested if everyone finds similar looking "particles" or what not... it would at least be a way to prove/disprove the technique...or at least give us a better feel on what this stuff is...
All input/feedback welcome!

B if i was it would be cool.
And im going to make one soon cus ive captured a ufo at daybreak on my shity sonyericson, but u can 100% tell its a genuine ufo.
ill make that video cool .
AND IM NOT KRIS75 LOOOOOL for the last time, kris is one of the best at finding things, im not lol
shit was is that thing man? and how far away do you reckon it was?

Well... I am not sure how to download videos from this site...however if someone clues me in and you post your raw footage (goes for others as well) I can edit the segments in question and put them all together (would put the user's handle prior to the video footage). Sort of like a montage of the collection of videos...
RE: What is the thing and the distance...
Well...I am going to post some footage I get with my XT-8 hooked up to the Sony HDR-X500 I use. It captures at 1080p...and can take 12 mega pixel still images. It has a digital zoom on it that can get "up to 50,000x zoom"...but really around 50-65% of the way zoomed in things become pretty pixelated.
I had no reference clouds yesterday...so I can't really tell (which sort of invalidates the video in a way...which is too bad). I can say that I was zoomed in at around 60% when I captured that...and the image "appears" to be relatively "far away". If you look at the end of the un-edited section of the video where I zoom back out and you can see the edge of my roof, that was zoomed only about 10%...the roof was about 150 feet away and is about 35-40 feet tall at that point. So, if I had to guess...it very well could have been like 35,000(+) feet away.
If you see the "glow" towards the end (the sun's edges...you can sort of make out the round'ish portion of the radiating part...the sun itself was pretty much occluded from that segment and just the "bright aura" section was what I was zoomed in on).
If it was a bug...which I couldn't make out any wings...but hey...if it was a bug...then it could have been flapping its wings furiously...and the bug could have been only 1,000 to say 2,000 feet up...and at that distance versus the typical size of a flying insect...it could possibly give a "reflection" from its wings...like say a horse fly... we do have those in our area.
Of course, it has been pretty cold for the past few days...and as such most flying insects like flies are not as likely to be flying around in the air...typically during spring and the summer time we get those...
So...I guess the answer is...I have no clue what it is...if I had more $$ I would buy a zoom lens for my HDR-XR500 and that would give me the ability to get a better view.
However, my next purchase is going to be a solar filter for my Orion XT-8....I tried using it yesterday and then (in a moment of stupidity) realized that I was frying the shutter door to my camcorder as I hooked it up to the lens on the XT-8...thankfully it was closed else I might have fried my camera! Once I get the solar viewing filter for the XT-8 I will run the exact same test...just using a reflector telescope to get a very good zoom/resolution on much further objects...which I am going to post some Moon footage here (perhaps today) for reference on the resolution/distance I get...so...when I do run this test one more time I can then compare that to the same equipment (minus the solar filter) I use to video tape craters on the moon. This way...if I happen to catch similar objects...and there is a question as to whether it is a "bug" or not...it will be like... "uh...bugs don't fly at that altitude...".
So...I am not sure what the heck it was...my feeling is that it was pretty damned far up there...of course...if it was an insect and was tiny...then very well it could have "appeared" to be something but really wasn't...
Thus why I would be interested in seeing what kind of video others could get with their equipment... if you do capture...please post the camcorder model you are using so we have a reference on resolution...
Cheers!

I´ve been studying this Sun Obliteration Technique, and recorded it myself... nothing more than dust, bugs and "tree cotton" depending on the time of the year. Blocking the sun you can see many particles reflected directly, so they look like "that bright object".
Is insane to think any white and maybe reflecting or bright object or particle that flies through the sky are alien spaceships. IF there was a real UFO it probably looked similar to the particles, just a white and bright object, but ALL kind of thing would look like that using that technique, I´m making my point?

Nice run!
Looks like you caught some interesting things there!
I am thinking that it might require a faster capture rate for most generic camcorders. These objects seem to be moving about as fast as a humming bird's wings. Which means...if your camera/camcorder has an option to increase the frames per second captured (my Sony HD cam has a "golf swing"/"sport" capture mode that doubles the frames caught) then you might be able to get a better outline of the objects captured.
Nice video footage!!!
Cheers,
