UK-Ireland--Turn off your lights I'm trying to sleep here!
To an observer in space, the human species' footprint on Planet Earth is vividly visible. Looking east from a location southwest of Ireland, an astronaut on the ISS took this nighttime panorama of population centers in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

I must admit. I'm a farmer boy from Saskatchewan (look it up, the place, not me), 'done good' and living in the UK. I'm used to nights with only two lights. The moon or the stars. If you were lucky maybe a third light, 1 light would light all your yard, if you had enough fuel to run the generator.
Where I live now, I have a constant night light. A friggin street lamp. The minute the sun goes down it is there. An evil yellow glow. It doesn't even point down! It points outwards! Right across to my bedroom window.
Growing up where I did. I need dark when I sleep.
Not a Fecking spotlight!
Don't worry, the local council has placed me on a waiting list. Just to hear my complaint!
I used to live in a tiny 1 bedroom house, well it was more like a shack, back in the day and the landlord had put up a streetlight in the yard and it lit up the whole house. I put black garbage bags and aluminum foil on the windows and he made me take it down because he said it looked trashy........had I not needed the place to live I would have pointed out nothing could have made the "shack" look any trashier.
