The head of the UN's observer mission to Syria (UNSMIS) acknowledged frustrations at the failure to reduce violence. The Security Council has agreed to end the UN mission and back a new liaison office that will support future peace efforts. (Aug. 18)

yeh, cant let the russians dominate in the gas and oil sectors so turkey and others are supplying terrorists to fight assad cos he made a deal with russia, no1 gives a rats arse about the syrian people.
