MAYDAY...MAYDAY.....MAYDAY..!! :yell:

This bill, which is now coming to a vote the evening of Monday, November 29, 2010, is the most "odious" food tyranny bill to have ever been crafted in the history of our nation. S 510 is to food freedom what the Patriot Act is to the Bill of Rights.

If passed, it will criminalize entire ranks of organic gardeners and small farmers while giving rise to a new wave of tyrants -- the food safety Gestapo who will rule over the production of food and the saving of seeds in the same way the TSA now rules over your security at the airport.

This urgent call-to-action video by the Health Ranger calls upon grassroots food freedom supporters to call their U.S. Senators on Monday, November 29, 2010, to oppose S.510.

I just placed a call to Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning's office and expressed my concern over the passage of S510. I was unable to talk to the Senator directly, however I did have lengthy conversation with his spokeswoman and she assured me that he too was against S510!!

Kentucky is a largely agricultural state and the farmers here are very protective of their way of life. This state was hit hard by the decline in Tobacco production several years ago and many farmers had to find new crops to grow in order to pay the bills. Dairy and produce have been on the rise ever since and the farmers here will be damned before they let it go.

There is also a small but strong movement for Hemp production and the legalization of Marijuana. Gatewood Galbreth http://www.gatewood.com/site/ has been running for Governor for nearly ten years on the platform of hemp and marijuana production. Although he has yet to win, his campaign grows stronger every year.

The people of Kentucky will have no part of this bill and if it comes down enforcement and folks start having their crops taken away or destroyed, the people of Kentucky WILL fight back.

"You can have my tomatoes when you pry them from my cold dead hands!!!!"

Thank you for your diligence Dr.Jones.

The latest Word from DC: the Senate schedule, which showed the Monday session starting at 9:30 AM and taking up S.510 after "morning business" now shows the morning session starting at 2 PM -- this means lots of "back-room" wheeling and dealing as the Bigs try to rescue their fake "food safety" bill from our growing Push Back!

Keep on pushing back! Call, email, call, email, call...

Another two hours for push back...

Stunning work my friend. :clapper: .. I'm not a U.S citizen but i am a human being and i realise all too well what this 'food safety bill' really means. Not good, not the way forward for future generations imo, which is getting back to the soil and looking after the Earth and it's resources sensibly..we can easilly feed this ever expanding population the mainstream keeps talking about without gmo's, without big corporate control over every aspect of our lives, we need to do this TOGETHER, community spirit needs to be reborn.., the key lies in local people like you and me getting involved and spreading the knowledge...the 100 monkey syndrome will soon apply.. we're not monkey's though, not even close.. :)
Anyway i'm kind of annoyed that i don't see many folks from the U.S in this topic saying anything, taking much action..... only ONE member ?.. anyway... alot of the political stuff that happens in America really impacts the rest of the world... it is perceived as the land of the free so if all goes to hell in the U.S then there aint much hope for the rest of us...

Dammit, sorry mate, no, picked up some organic sweet bell today at a reduced price, juiced those with some celery and some fennel and an apple, blended it all with some organic watercress, spinach and rocket and mixed bean sprouts, this was basically my lunch... but for next growing season i will seek out these banana peppers mate, definetely.
I love bananas and i love peppers so it's a no brainer really..

well my senator, Burnie Sanders helped co sponsor the bill, and is telling some people he wont do it now though, yet others that he will still vote for it.

Pretty sure my senators are bought and pair for...

Patric Leahy is pushing something called the Food Safety Accountability Act, is that a different one or the same? I cant figure it out honestly... I think it is actually a different one, trying to do the same thing though...

Love the pic Dr.J!! Funny stuff!

@megame25...I think it is trying to do the same basic thing.....The ol' one-two punch. If one doesn't pass, change a few words, change the tittle and make a few grammatical alterations and pass that one...

I think the bottom line here is that "they" want us to depend on them for everything. They want the control, they want the power and all the money too...

"They" can pass what they will...but if they come to Kentucky and try to enforce some B.S. food laws, they will be met with strong resistance.

Good luck to us all and get some seeds while you can!!!

URGENT CALL FROM THE POP CAMPAIGN: ACT NOW!
Call Your Senators: Urge A Vote NO on S. 510 — The Food Safety Bill
S.510, Food Safety Legislation is slated to come to a vote on the Senate floor on Monday, November 29. While the bill has been improved from a year ago, it still provides an expansion of government into the lives and decisions of Americans regarding foods, farming, and dietary supplements. This bill includes provisions that authorize the government to map the entire food production system and to track every food product we purchase and grow.

Senator Reid of Nevada, after barely holding on to the majority in the Senate and keeping his job as Senator and Majority Leader, has made S. 510 a priority for passage before the 111th Congressional session ends this year. This Bill is expensive, intrusive, and will not make the food supply safer. It will however compromise your liberty and privacy while driving the costs of foods higher.

The numerous policies and guidelines to be developed are to be “science-based.” The problem with this is that most of the research the government will rely on comes from the agricultural giants who have been pushing small farmers and even heritage seeds out of the marketplace.

Behind the scenes, orchestrating “food safety” legislation in the United States is a strategic plan of the UN’s Codex Alimentarius Commission for every nation to develop “national food control systems” including legislation on food safety and which promote and adopt Codex Guidelines. The fabric of America does not include “food control” laws, but that is exactly what S. 510 launches.

We have a “once-in-a-lifetime” chance to stop this Bill before it becomes law. WE CAN DO THIS! Call your own two Senators (listed below). ASK YOUR SENATORS TO VOTE NO ON S. 510 — THE FOOD SAFETY BILL. If we can convince 51 Senators to vote NO on S. 510, Victory is ours.

Target your emails and calls for Monday — and until the vote is taken.
A * in the last column means they are a Republican who voted yes on the motion to proceed and should be called to encourage a NO vote. A # in the last column means they are in an agricultural state and should be encouraged to vote NO.
