43 firearms.
That's what I'd call an avid hunter, definitely.

43 guns?? wow! With that many registered firearms, the guy pretty much painted a bull's eye on his forehead....I hate to say it...but the government keeps up with things like that. If you own a large number of guns, they know it, and if you mess up in the slightest case, they come down on you hard. It does suck for the guy being arrested, but he should have known better than to run his mouth allegedly threating the president. If the gov catches wind of a threat, they run your name and numbers....then if it comes back that you own 43+ guns....they don't take that lightly.
I don't agree with the situation...I'm just saying that the guy was treading on a very slippery slope.....

Take it easy...and if its easy...take it twice!!
This reminds me of a story a friend of mine from Kosovo told me.
He said that he got into an argument with his neighbour (something about the BBQ). The next day, the communist Kosovo police arrived at his doorstep (This was 10 years ago). They tore his house apart looking for a 'gun', that a neighbor had called to complain about. There was no gun. He had to walk to the police station before and after school (He was a teacher), to report, every day for 3 months.
This is why we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. I remember listening to his story in horror, thinking how awful it would be to live in a corrupt communist society. I guess it is really not much different in North America.
He may have had co-workers who knew of his large gun collection, and wanted to see him get into some trouble. Or maybe it was an easier way to be promoted.
