Amazing cloud roll captured on camera

This amazing picture shows a rare phenomenon called a roll cloud which tend to form ahead of a cold front and can stretch for miles.

They are most common when an advancing storm front causes moist air to rise, then cool to the point where it becomes a cloud known as the dew point.

When this happens along a front, a roll cloud can form, often with air actually circulating along the horizontal axis of the cloud.

Although it looks like a sideways tornado, these clouds cannot become one.

I posted so many videos on this here long ago, it's natural cloud and it has a name just type in (Tubular Clouds or Roll clouds or Morning Glory clouds or funnel clouds) they are rare. They are not fully understood yet but few ideas are:
Wikipedia:

In the front of the cloud, there is strong vertical motion that transports air up through the cloud and creates the rolling appearance, while the air in the middle and rear of the cloud becomes turbulent and sinks. The cloud can also be described as a solitary wave or a soliton, which is a wave that has a single crest and moves without changing speed or shape.

look at this one

i posted bunch videos on the subject here on dtv too.

this is great footage of alot of them

Also known as Morning Glory clouds, these rare tubular clouds appear (every spring) over Burketown, Australia. The clouds can stretch 600 miles long and travel at 35 miles per hour.

While studied extensively, Morning Glory clouds aren't well understood.

People Surf these clouds

These long, crazy-looking clouds can grow to be 600 miles long and can move at up to 35 miles per hour, causing problems for aircraft even on windless days.

Known as Morning Glory clouds, they appear every fall or spring over Burketown, Queensland, Australia, a remote town with fewer than 200 residents. A small number of pilots and tourists travel there each year in hopes of "cloud surfing" with the mysterious phenomenon.

Similar tubular shaped clouds called roll clouds appear in various places around the globe. But nobody has yet figured out what causes the Morning Glory clouds.

news storys about these clouds.
