Video Comments Abuse Prevention

Update: We took this off again. However, from now on all forum rules strictly apply for comments to videos, podcasts and photos on Disclose.tv

Greetings,

Only members who uploaded at least 5 videos are able to post comments to videos from now on.

We took this action due to the repeated harassment of members by abusive, infantile, nonconstructive or hateful comments to videos in particular by members that have not contributed any content on Disclose.tv, yet.

Disclose.tv is about controversive topics, certainly the opinions can vary and we stand for freedom of speech. Nevertheless we demand friendly and constuctive behaviour between the members on this site.

We hope, this step protects our valued contributing members and improves the overall quality of communication.

PS: If you still want to block an individual member to leave comments to your videos, click on "Block User" in the profile of this member. However, please be aware that this step is irreversible.

What a joke.
Whatever happened to freedom of expression?
This site is full of people moaning and groaning about the NWO,JESUS,WAKE UP PEOPLE...look what is even happening to this site.You can say this but you can't say that.
UNBELIEVABLE.Think about it.

Great! I have been blocked and all I've ever tried to leave were intellectual, thoughtful and informed insights to add to the community.

I'm a writer and researcher and that's where my interests lay... too bad I can't bring them to the community. I've never used profanity or put someone down-- however, I have disagreed with a lot of the bigoted and uninformed video and commentary of a select few.

I guess those who place videos that are anti-semitic, bigoted and full of untruths based more on fear and misinformation have a greater right here than those of us who want to bring light and truth to our fellow man.

I'd ask you to reconsider your policy and simply police the comment sections better-- you never have more then 2 or 3 dozen new vids each day. Thats not a lot of ground to cover.

I agree. This is wrong to stop comments. I have never posted videos here or on other sites like Youtube, except a UFO forum that I visit where I embed the occassional video from here, Youtube, and Googlevideo etc..... I prefer to search through videos of UFO's, and if I see something that is interesting, or what I think to be a blatant hoax, I leave a comment. I am never abusive to anyone, and now I'm being punished along with many others who don't post videos.

If you are not careful, you will lose a lot of members because of this. There are other websites that I visit that allow freedom of speech, so it looks like I will be visiting them more often than here from now on.

To the site owners, You are going to see a big drop in visitors from now on I think. And to think that this was one of my favourite websites. Not any more I'm afraid!

As you say, posters can ban members from leaving comments, so lets stay with that. Please don't ruin it for most of your members.

I too think that it's a bit too much to have to post at least 5 videos, still want to hear their comments. Stricter rules instead, good good.

why not let the people who post videos decide for themselves whether or not to block offensive comments?
and how is making people post 5 videos before they're allowed to comment going to change anything?

Thanks for the change of heart disclose.tv . It's the right way to go. Any who break the rules will be banned anyway, and as we all know, every website out there gets people who make trouble, and who eventually get kicked from the website.

I love this website, so I am happy again. :flop:
