Thirty-five years ago today, Aug. 20, 2012, NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft, the first Voyager spacecraft to launch, departed on a journey that would make it the only spacecraft to have visited Uranus and Neptune and the longest operating NASA spacecraft ever. Voyager 2 and its twin Voyager 1 that launched sixteen days later on Sept. 5, 1977, are still going strong, hurtling away from our sun. Mission managers are eagerly anticipating the day when they break on through to the other side -- the space between stars.

The radio signal sent back by Voyager is at the speed of light (186282miles per second)
16hr = 57600 seconds
multiplied together is- 10729843200 mile in 16hrs.
The math certainly adds up.

They are nuclear powered (check out the vid, there are no Solar panels), and I doubt you have a directed high gain antenna on your Citizen Band). believe it or not even though you have difficulty getting a mile on your CB, evrything you have ever said on it, is flying away from the Earth at the speed of light too.
So if you were broadcasting 36 years ago there is a small possibility that an Alien civilisation will recieve your broadcasts a year before Voyager burns up in their atmosphere....
There is some food for thought
