Will Sheehan claims that when he tried to sign up for Obamacare and then register to opt out, he received an ominous warning. Sheehan’s full Facebook post reads;

“I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance.

I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”

Sheehan went on to point out that the site makes you input all your personal information before giving you an indication of the costs, meaning a database of the “uninsured” is being built. He added that he could not afford to pay the premium so would have to break the law and pay the fine, leaving him with no health care coverage.

On a side note, my wife's company is now dropping their health insurance coverage and blaming it on Obamacare. She makes a piddly $22K/year salary working 45 hours per week as an office assistant. The human resources manager helped figure out what her Obamacare insurance premium would be in her circumstance, $6,000.00 per year or $115.39 per her weekly pay check. But here's the kicker, they won't base that off of just her salary, from what I understand, it will be based off of total household income, which will send that premium into the teens.

A small safety net will be that I can add her to my company insurance, but then, our deductible will be a combined $5,000 before insurance pays anything. Not $2,500 each, but the total $5,000 must be met first, whether it's one or both of us. And that renews EVERY JANUARY 1!!!

:yell:

Damn right we need a healthcare plan, and we could have one that benefited every single one of us, and the money is already there to pay for it - it just has to be moved from financing (1) $80,000 rocket to be fired by a soldier making $30,000 a year to kill a "terrorist" that makes $10,000 in a lifetime.

So you would have to pay $115.39 per week to be insured for health care and $5000 deductible if you want to use it?

WTF?

The reality is when the health care of a nation is controlled by the nation and not by a corporate few.
The nation is better for it.

UK NHS is something I am proud off.

This government is so screwed up right now it's unbelievable.

Obama instead of letting the WWII veterans visit the Memorial and making a few friends he decides to send Federal Rangers to help kick the Veterans out! What a jerk. (sorry to branch off topic a bit)

No, the $115.39/week is what would need to come out of her check to insure she would have enough to cover the deductible in the event of medical issues. Now, we're talking about a current weekly income $320. Add $11 back into that which she currently pay into the company plan and the $20/week to HSA = $351 Pre Tax. Then subtract the $115.39 from that for "THE AFFORDABLE CARE PLAN"

45 hours of putting up with a power-narcissistic, asshole of a taskmaster boss (short as fuck too with little man syndrome), lots of demanding sales people (at least their good people) and impatient customers for $235.61/week. Oh, and it's a 30 mile round trip drive daily.

And you wanna know why this is the great change we have?

Because of this...

That law passed AGAIN without the representatives being able to read it in the first place.
For any human to read it, it would take them days, and they had 1 hr or to that effect to vote on it.

WTF is wrong with those morons?

And if they did not vote in favor of it, their sponsors money would run dry.

There should be new system in place. Whoever votes for a candidate, must pay lets say 1$ a month so he represents him. NO SPONSORS whatsoever. So no damn corporation would have their say.

If the government official has low votes or no votes, he is out of office.
Lets say 1000 ppl vote for him, he gets 1$ from each voter and makes 1000$ a month for his office expenses. If people are pleased with him, he will continue to get votes.

And tries to prove these assertions/claims with scientific facts.

Originally they (public officials or representatives) did not receive pay for their services - which is what made it: A PUBLIC SERVICE.

If a monkey gets paid to do something, he will figure out ways in which to get paid more bananas, whether he deserves them or not. Do you see a difference?

Stop paying these persons - period - and the regulations will sort themselves out as a shortage of Regulators allows citizens time to evaluate the regulations.

No matter what, I will not go along with this socialist nightmare. I know, as everyone else does that is awake, that this "law" is null and void. They bent the so called rules to push it through and "deem it passed" as if that makes it ok. It doesn't, and they should all be arrested.

I will not be compelled to buy from them. I will not pay any fine or penalty, period, ever....I refuse.

Let's get this marxist zombie apocolpse started already...

This is a twist of the facts, though. The government is "shut down," so national parks and memorials are closed due to no, or insufficient, staff.

I assume you are specifically talking about WWII Memorial in DC. In that instance, the park has actually been using the first amendment in order to allow vets into the memorial, despite the shutdown.

edit to add a quote on this claim:
The National Park Service did not try to stop the veterans from entering the World War II Memorial. source

Obama didn't personally say "Nah, you can't go in there." Hate Obama all you want, but to sit there and blame him personally for that is silly and just plane false.

The problem with this is, without financial compensation, they are more likely to accept bribes and what-not from "corporate sponsors." Not that they don't already do, but still...
