Nature is all about us, and inside of us, because we are part of it - are we not?

I have always been in awe of how 'Mother nature' works, creating, renewing and controlling a strange world of apparent chaos.

She tells plants when to grow by using water and sunlight, when animals hibernate, when they procreate, she even culls the herd using death - in it's many forms, but death is part of nature as much as life is.

In mankind's early days, she was worshiped for this hidden power.

We human's think we can harness and even control 'nature' - but then an earthquake or tsunami or flu pan-epidemic appears and we know exactly how small our powers are compared to her.

So who or what controls this incredible force - what controls nature?

Whatever controls nature has nothing to do with us. This stuff was happening long before we came along.

Exactly! :flop:

So were we created to be part of it, or evolved to join it?

And why has humanity created a 'lifestyle' so at odds with nature?

To be honest, cuz as a whole, we are ignorantly disrespectful to what we have been given

The Sun is much a PART of nature as a drop of water.

What controls the Sun then, when it has 'quiet' moments or creates sun-spots etc.? Is that not PART of Nature and it's control?

So, the question is still valid.

"What controls Nature?"

Indeed, it is as much a part, the entire solar system is all part, the Milky way is a part, the entire universe is a part. Earth is a microcosm of the whole, a fractal representation of the the bigger picture. We see the patterns and stand in awe. But to understand the controlling aspect would be to understand the universe, and it's creation, it's life and it's demise. And we are a long way away from understanding that. But I would postulate that the very existence of the Universe controls it's aspects.

I will just let nature amaze me, and live with the hope my fellow man will not destroy and waste this beautiful planet before we get closer to the understanding of what really makes it tick....

If nature was simply a series of random singular events unconnected to a whole, then yes, it would be difficult to advocate some control mechanism for such an entity.

But nature is not, it appears to demonstrate an almost linear control upon the process that we call 'life'.

Image

The basic line is creation, growth and death. And then the cycle starts again. and again.

Yet, it appears that all living things follow this simple line.

And even the non-living parts demonstrate this, a Mountain is pushed up through the earth by earthquake or Glacier movement, then over time is crumbles and is eroded, with the smaller pieces becoming rocks and stones. The Mountain is long dead, but the cycle starts again with a new mountain.

All these separate process combining together to create 'nature' - as humans observe it.

Are these process's somehow controlled?
