After clicking on the news for china link. This more than likely changes by the minute. Also I am in U.S.
It may be better to search with someone in the same region. I know that Dom is about 3.5 hrs from my local. Maybe he will try a new search at some time that we could compare.

TPTB like to keep changing shit all the time dont they, nothing remains the same

"The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence."
I don't have a problem with tailored search results. There has to be a way to determine which links come first, and, if it's a balance (as the presenter would define it), and the results are less relevant, then I'll search elsewhere. Simply put, relevance is the biggest factor in results, not balance.
Plus, I disagree with is premise on two key points.
1. His definition of what search results are balanced or "vegetables vs. dessert" is, in itself, the same filtering that Google does. Who determines a vegetable from a dessert? I do! By the way I search, and the links I show interest in. What he is really advocating - possibly without realizing it - is a fairness doctrine for the web. He just calls it "balanced".
2. Journalist ethics was a monumental failure - it's the reason newspapers and magazines are bankrupt. People eventually realized they weren't being told the whole story and sought other sources of news. But doesn't that prove his point? No, the exact opposite because he's touting this "ethics" as a way to save the web. It's when these "ethics" are introduced that someone other than me and my search habits define my results.
Also, it's not like the information isn't available. In the bad old days, with newspapers, if they decided not to run a story, that was it. Now, if you want to read another side to a story, all you have to do is better choose your search keywords. "Egypt" might give all of us different results. But " Riots over football deaths rage outside Cairo ministry" (with quotes) probably brings up the same France24 for all of us.
