What I Learned at The Newt Ginrich Speech/Rally

On Dec, 21st I went to see Newt Gringich speak in his bid to win the Republican Nomination for POTUS. I got a automated phone call inviting me to attend the rally. Not completely sure why I am in a database of people who want to see Newt, I figure it is because I hold a membership in the National Rifle Association and the NRA sold my number to the RNC, as many conservatives are also gun owners, and more likely to vote Republican.
Anyway, I had some time that afternoon and went to the Rally which was held right downtown in my own city. I listened to Newt and he didn't really impress me as he made his standard stump speech which I had already basically heard on the news. Ho hum.

(as a side note to you 20 something anarchist types, you might actually consider cleaning up and attending things like this, as there where oodles of very attractive young women recording the event ! )

On the way out of the event of ran a small gauntlet of Newt supporters pushing Newy flyers and bumpers stickers. A nice but assertive fella stopped me and asked what I thought of things and I told him that I was unconvinced. I didn't want to burst any bubbles and say that I really am a Ron Paul supporter. But he asked me a question: "What do I know about Buddy Roemer?" Well I didn't know anything about Buddy Roemer, but with some study, I found him to be the Democrats more religious Ron Paul ! This person gets no press as he is getting ignored just as Ron Paul was ignored for so long.

This man talks up Paul and talks down Newt and his neuro-linguistics.
