all that it was is some say hitler and a lot of close nazi's got away on u-boat's, to one of the poles, the north i think, the strange thing is there was a lot of u-boats not accounted for after the war as in sunk captered etc.

Yes they had interest in Europe but those are a small price to pay for freedom.
The USA lend us (europe) money after WW2 but 80% was a gift, and of course they wanted to form a front against communism which is also in the interest of the european people. Also Hitler declared war on the US not the other way around. I'm glad the Canadians, Americans and British liberated my country and not the Russians, they turned eastern-europe in to one big concentration camp.
