Hmmm... I do not have deep knowledge in this field.
Could be that type 0 is the original?
In war or catastrophe-type situations this bloodtype would then be crucial?

It's interesting to note that anyone can receive our blood, that's 100% of the population can have our blood irrespective of their blood group(hence the title universal donor), yet we can only recieve our own blood group.
Also i have read many times but never seen any documentation to prove this, that people with O neg are tracked by their respective governments for life.

528, I think you’re talking about blood type O, and I believe your right about O being universal blood type. You can be use by any and all blood types but you can only receive type O… how does something like that happen? (You guys got the short end on that deal) I need to take a trip to red cross online see what they have.

As for the government and tracking…
One thing I firmly believe is saying the wrong thing can get you killed…
With that in mind, I remember something about tracking rh-‘s as well. Can’t be sure from where tho.
The only reason I can think of for gov tracking would be rh- are considered a threat…???
Why would anyone with rh- blood be considered a threat? IDK but shit gets scary sometimes.
If we are all the same species, why so many types/combos ?

To pick up on what Jonesy said, I also find it odd that we in the uk do not know our blood groups. but you can bet your ass they know it. since 1975 (i think) A heel prick test has been carried out on all new born babies called the Guthrie test here in the uk.

It's done under the guise of screening for some quite rare but nasty defects which can harm your child which is ofcourse a good thing. but what is gained from this heel prick test is a spot of the childs blood. I don't need to tell you that from that spot of blood they have every DNA fingerprint of every child born since 1975. That's a complete database of every childs DNA since 1975, this is not just in the uk, this information is stored indefinately, and has in the past been accessed by the police to convict people.

If the test is done to screen for birth defects that are detrimental to your childs health, then why are the cards that contain your childs DNA not destroyed once they find out your child doesn't have any of the illnesses screened for?

Watchers vs Reptiles for Negative blood. Interesting! Since Reptiles love the heat and never sweat. I have to be a Watcher. I hate the heat. Above 30 deg C, I start turning into a puddle.
Does this mean if your Negative and don't sweat, you could be a Reptile?

Good grief everyone...

Rh+ is dominant, Rh- is recessive
Someone who is Rh+ can receive blood from someone who is Rh-, but NOT vice-versa.

Type A and Type B are co-dominant, Type O is recessive
People who are A, B, or AB can receive Type O blood, but NOT vice-versa.

To be Rh+, this is what you need to get from your parents: ++ or +-
To be Rh-, you need to get this from your parents: --

To be Type A, you need to get AA, or AO
To be Type B, you need to get BB or BO
To be Type AB, you need to get AB
To be Type O, you need to get OO

So, while Type AB- is the rarest blood type on earth, O- (rare also) is the universal donor to ALL blood types; people who are O- can ONLY receive O- blood, and people who are AB+ can receive ANY type of blood.
