President Obama invokes the NDAA, which authorizes the use of military force, and issues an executive order declaring the “threat” of Iran a National Emergency.

Obama concluded,, "I have also delegated certain functions and authorities conferred by section 1245 of the NDAA to the Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of State in consultation with other appropriate agencies as specified in the order."

This video shows the issuance of President Obama executive order which declares Iran’s threat to cut off oil supplies a national emergency.

The executive order directs all government agencies to respond immediately to the threat. It further invokes the authority of the 2012 NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) which gives the President the power to launch military action against any nation without the approval of Congress.

Ironically, the State of Emergency order accuses the Iranian central bank of deceptive banking practices.

For those who think some random series of events led up to this situation, the following article is a real eye opener. The Brookings Institute laid out the playbook in 2009 on how to provoke a war with Iran and garner international support for an invasion.

Comparing the chain of events since then, it is pretty clear that TPTB have followed the playbook so far. It is quite scary thinking about the the next steps in the playbook – an Iran sponsored 9/11 attack.

It is currently only to enforce the sanctions described by the NDAA, but it does give him the right to go to war if need be...doesn't mean he has declared war...just yet...but does mean he is invoking the power to call upon the "nations" to enforce the sanctions.

Issue at hand...
China and Russia are opposed to these sanctions...
China buys the majority of US debt...
China could only *benefit* from US and UN nations not doing business with Iran (financially speaking)...

It is another "Obama moment"...where his lack of good advisers, lack in being an experienced leader, and just lack in understanding all of the dynamics involved are now putting not only the US in an even more precarious situation (not to mention the additional constitutional violations...second piece of legislation Obama has passed that violates constitutional rights...btw).

But... not going to War... just means if he feels like it...he can... but the primary invocation of the NDAA is for sanctions...to put additional pressure on Iran...

Which Iran will end up trading with China...and various other "China influenced" countries...and will basically make Obama's NDAA a worthless piece of paper.

Unless he invokes/declares war specifically... then we ~shouldn't~ see any form of military action from this... if so... and he doesn't violate his requirement to get congressional approval (like he did in Libya)... then it would take at least 60 days and the full support of congress...which seeing as many congressional members are pretty pissed off about the NDAA... could be difficult.

But... not war... yet... just sanctions...
