Hello!
I am a new member on this forum but for the past month or two I have been reading the topics and discussions almost on a daily basis. I have been opened up to a broader view of the world and its issues. I am overwhelmed by the feeling of helplessness to my own well-being. I am frustrated by this. I know deep down that this can all be changed. But the million dollar question is how does one go about making a difference? Where do you start?

my friendyou always start with your self. and when you come to a point of understading. nothing metters not in a negative way but positive
everything that happens happens for a reason
and nothing i mean nothing is what its seems to be
reality changes all the the time all we can do is whatch and adopt with it
dont be afraid stay focused the univers will show you the way
peace love and respect

There is no greater victory than to fall from this world a free man

Welcome.
You face a common dilemma, and the best way to fix that is to find out what is needed in your area, local community etc... and provide a service, need or system of support.
By addressing the needs and ailments of your local communities you can establish strength within and let it grow and prosper. This serves as an example for the larger areas and communities and with the right energy, can infect even the largest city with a sense of honor and sacrifice.
Turn off the conspiracies, turn off the brainwash box, step out into the world and you will see things that need attention.
How are the shelters in your area? What kind of provisions does your area have for disaster. Does your neighborhood have any kind of assistance plan should something happen?
Do folks even know their neighbors? Starting by bringing people together breaks that chain of anonymous humans living within feet of each other and helps bring back that wholesome down home, everyone chips in sort of ideal.
Sure, some of it may sound a bit "Perfect World" -ish, but you have to start somewhere.

Punjudi, That is a very well constructed and meaningful answer. What you said is spot on. Though, easier said than done. Most folks are not willing to listen. They get way to caught up in their daily lives to even want to think beyond their shell. Most people dont think for the future, at least, future catastrophic events. Also, In a selfish way, only think of themselfs or their surrounding family, and dont think of their neighbours. So, if i were to try and bring people together to talk of prepairing for future changes, i would not be seen any different than the homeless person standing on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign with "the end is near". But you are right, have to start somewhere.

thanks for all the welcomes!!
I agree it does seem like people would just brush it off as another "end is near" sign. But if you could get just one person to change and they could get another person to change and so on, then maybe it could snowball like the "pay it forward" effect.

I'm just parroting what everyone else said but start locally, maybe even smaller than that. Be that go to person in your circle of friends or on your block. Hopefully someone will take notice, wake up and do the same. You get enough people just being 'that person', you will have enough to make a real difference.
The world is seemingly so large and complex , it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and feel like no matter what you do it won't make a difference. As cliche as it is, one person can make a difference. Most of the time without even knowing it. You have no idea who saw you do something, or heard you talk, then it rippled out from there. The butterfly effect, if you will.
