Description: My husband and I were sitting outside enjoying the warmth of a fire we had made in our fire pit and gazing up at the stars. The night was quite cool and crisp, but the sky was very clear with many stars. As we were looking up, we noticed a fairly bright object making its way across the sky in an arc-type path. The object moved steadily and consistently in a soft arc from the Northwestern part of the sky to the Southeastern part of the sky. It did not move exceptionally fast, but moved at a quicker pace than that of most planes we see. We assumed it was a plane, but continued to watch it as we could not see any blinking lights and it was extremely bright for the planes we normally see. I did not take my eyes off of the object because I was sure I would see blinking lights at any moment. As we both watched it move across the sky, the object appeared to get brighter and brighter - almost growing in size. The light that was coming from the object was similar to the very bright white light you see coming from the solor-powered lights that people often put around their gardens. I kept watching the object and convinced myself that I would see blinking lights at any moment, but there were none. As we watched the object, it continued to get brighter and brighter and then suddenly, it dimmed and completely disappeared. I double-checked to see if it could have suddenly gone behind some clouds, but there were absolutely no clouds in the sky. There were stars all around the area where it disappeared, so we know that there were no clouds present. When I realized that I had seen something that we could not explain, I was excited, yet my mind still tried to rationalize and create some logical explanation for what the object was. I knew the object was unusual when it went from emitting extremely bright light to dimming and disappearing in a matter of approximately 4-5 seconds. I would be very curious to know if others have seen something similar.

Description: On Sunday 05/24/09 at approximately 11:20 pm I observed a bright white light traveling almost directly overhead of my location. At first I believed the object to be the International Space Station. I had stated to the others in my party what I thought the object was. Just as I had just stated this the object disappeared. I believed it gained altitude at an extreme rate and vanished. One of the other witnesses stated it was probably a shooting star. The other stated it looked as if it just burned out or dimmed. Although we could not agree what happened to the object we all agreed that it was indeed unusual. I have seen the ISS pass over at least three times in the past two years as our local weatherman advises when it can be seen. I just wish I could have taken a pic or video.

Description: It was Sunday May 24th 2009 at almost exactly 10:15 pm. I say exactly because this is the time that I usually leave for work every night. I work third shift as a Police Officer and as I do every night while walking to my garage, in uniform, I looked up at the sky to check the weather and gaze at the stars and constellations. It was a clear night and I did not observe any clouds in the sky. It had been a cooler day and I estimate that the temperature was around 55 degrees at the time of this incident. I opened my garage door and stood in my driveway facing westbound. As I looked up in the night sky, almost directly above me, I observed a very bright white spot. It appeared to be about the size of the biggest star that was in the sky, possibly slightly larger. It also appeared to be as bright as one of the brighter stars, say for instance the North Star. The object was traveling southbound, very smoothly, not losing or gaining altitude, and not traveling very fast. When I first observed it, like I always do with any object in the night sky, I tried to identify it in my mind. I thought to myself it seems to be moving at the speed of a typical passenger jet, but there were no blinking colored lights and it was far too bright. Then I thought, maybe the jet is coming right towards me and the spotlights in front of it are hitting my line of sight just right. But that didnt seem to make sense as the object was moving southbound, causing me to begin to turn my head to the left to keep it centered in my line of sight. It was far too large to be a satellite and moved too fast. I then thought, maybe our (NASA) space shuttle, but no, that had landed a day before. So here I stood looking at this object, thinking to myself, is this really what I think it might be.., an actual unidentified flying object. I would estimate that I was watching this object for 20 to 30 seconds at most, and then the part I just cant explain happened. Within 2 seconds it dimmed from a bright star like object to absolutely nothing, gone, vanished, while it was still in motion. It almost appeared like someone took a dimmer switch on a light and very steadily, but quickly turned it off. I stood there for a few seconds thinking did that really just happen? So I snap out of it.., wipe the grin off my face, and think, oh it probably just went behind a cloud. No, no clouds in sight, in fact it disappeared very close to a few stars. To convince myself even further I took my high powered flashlight off my duty belt and shined it up into the night sky. No clouds to be seen. So there I stood in my driveway, running late to work as usual, just witnessing this. I felt amazed. If I had the time I would have stood there for a while to see if it would reappear in another location in the night sky, but duty called. While driving to work all I could think about was how I had never seen anything like this before. Being close to 30 years old Ive been looking at the night sky for quite some time. Never have I seen something disappear in the manner that this object did. Did this object suddenly shoot out into outer space and disappear from my vision? I dont know. Thank you for listening to my story and I urge anyone in the area of my sighting to come forward if you have experienced something similar to what I saw. I would really like to hear from others who may have seen this and submit possible additional information.

Description: At about 10:30 p.m. us and our two friends were outside smoking and looking up at the stars, when my husband seen this bright light, thinking it was a sattelite. So we all looked up and realized it was moving to quick to be a sattelite. It was very low, lower than a high flying aircraft. It had no blinking lights, like an airplane or helicopter, and it was completely quiet. We continued to watch it go off to the east and all of a sudden it was just gone, like someone turned the light off. Me and my girlfriend didn't know what to think, and my husband and her boyfriend couldn't quit staring at the sky, waiting for it to come back. We didn't know what we just saw, but we thought it was crazy.

It was way lower than the stars and ther was no noise, it was quite... The sky was clear and stars were out. This object was bright and looked like to have a tint of blue when it started going south east... The video appears to have deformed the object shape as it appeared to be round.... The object was very steady when moving but slow, then as heading south east it still was steady moving but got faster and smaller till it was gone.

Description: My wife, daughters and I were camping in Gifford Pinchot National Forest Sunday, May 24th. We went for a walk about 9:45-10 p.m. that evening. On the way back to our campsite through the camping area, I happened to look up through the trees and saw a very bright object moving quickly across the sky. I pointed it out to my wife and daughters, and we agreed that it was extremely bright, moving fast, and had no other aircraft navigational lights on it. There was no jet sound, either - even well after it passed from view beyond the steep ridge surrounding our camping area. I had not checked a compass earlier that day so I can't be certain as to its direction but it seemed to be moving from west-northwest to east-southeast. The thing that stands out the most was that it was very, very bright - probably two to three times as bright as the brightest star in the night sky.

Description: We watched the large star object move from the most western horizon to the most eastern horizon within a minute or less--it was moving very fast--freaky fast. I'm an experienced enough sky watcher to know that it wasn't a satellite because the object was swerving and was flying at a lower altitude. The object was an extremely bright/large object in the night sky that wasn't blinking but it was swerving--can't express that enough--it was swerving, not at a fixed orbit or flight path. Didn't make a sound, didn't leave a vapor trail, it just booked really fast across the sky. Faster than a jet, faster than a satellite. I watched it fly over Salmon Creek from Vancouver, Washington. 1. we were celebrating my birthday as a family at my Aunt's house. I spotted the object after my younger cousin (18) pointed it out--I was drinking, but she was completely sober and spotted it first. The object moved in a straight line but swerved from side to side as it made it's way across the sky. Zig zaged across the sky but in a controlled way. 5. Everyone who experienced witnessing the object was perplexed to explain it--everyone marveled at how fast it moved over us without leaving vapor trails or sound. Before it disappeared the consensus among us was that it was indeed a UFO. 6. It kept traveling east toward eastern Washington. Everyone watched it until it disappeared beyond our vision on the eastern horizon of our sky. Any thoughts on this guys....It seems awfully strange to me!
all those reports sound exactly like low orbiting objects. from satellites to the space station can all be the problem.............also it could be an alien craft in low orbit.....who knows.
