I always wondered why no new technology has yet replaced the dinosaur internal combustion engine, and why we still roll on the ground.

Slush, this post made me realize why. It's for our own safety.
On our roads we have laws, restrictions, and rules of the road for every operator to understand. Yet they still miserably fail and our roads are actually very dangerous.

Can you imagine what it would be like if people were no longer confined to a roadway?

Well, at least it may help with population control. Survival of the fittest, weed out the stupid drivers?

Craft like this would be so cool, but where could you hide from idiot drivers?
